It's not often I can get his lordship to visit sites of a religious nature but the promise of coffee and cake and the Lord of Darkness is putty in my hands !!! Hey Mel ! 30 years of stalking him has paid off x
We visited the Grange Restaurant today, his lordship well helped by Mel with the self service coffee machines, technology isn't his strong point ! I opted for him the orange and carrot cake.... wasn't a slice more like a wedge ! Bye daily MMoL wait till I tell his nurse ! My cream tea and his apprentice the Prince of Chaos a Wimbledon flapjack. All cakes well past the very good score.
We sat out on the very nice balcony area in the sunshine with the Abbey views towering above.
His lordship and Mel shared their football moment, many years since we visited their ground !
For us the grange was excellent start to the day, excellent value for money and good quality cakes. The attentive nature of the team made for a good visit. No issues with giving 5 stars for the grange.

Read moreUnfortunately last Sunday, the meal was not of usual standard. Could not cut the meat, quite fatty, the Cauliflower cheese was rock hard. When mentioned to Staff, they used a different knife to cut food. Absolutely packed, they had to close service. Lucy and staff were really helpful, as always. We are grateful for their help. DO not like the new system. If you have soup or pasty with other guest a roast, then one meal ends up cold! Same with getting a drink with main meal. When I mentioned this to the Supervisor on the till, she quite rudely told me, that everybody else liked the new system. Just thought i should mention, obviously she was not interested! Sure system will be tweaked before more visitors arrive in summer. We visit regularly. Abbey is beautiful, in...
Read moreMyself and my mum, went for a walk around the buckfast Abbey grounds. Which was beautiful. We stopped off for lunch at the Grange Restaurant, to see what they had on offer. We both decided to stay and have a carvery, and we're served by Paul and Ollie. Both gentlemen were very friendly, kind, helpful and entertaining.
We sat down to have the carvery, and it was cooked to perfection. There were a great selection of meats, vegetarian option, wide selection of freshly cooked veg, and freshly cooked potatoes. Also a wide variety of condements and drink selection, Best carvery ever 🤩all fresh meat and vegetables.
10/10 would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
Many Thanks...
