We were camping at Hannock Hideaways just up the road from this place in August just as the rain had hit - it was empty apart from a few drinkers, which is a shame as the view from the back of the pub looking across the valley was fab. We had 4 pints and 2 scampi and chips for £30 and the dog seemed happy to be out of the wet tent so not bad.

Nice "old style" country pub. Great views over the valley from eating area. Decent beers and ciders on draft, staff friendly and welcoming. We both had the steaks, very nice

Lovely old world pub, lots of character with great beer (Moggie Ale) surrounded by history

We have been using this

local village pub since its first year of being run by Ivan and Jane . It has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years . A basic pub menu has expanded into a excellent choice which should have something for most people . Evenings are the normal opening times in Winter with Sunday lunch onward normal for Sunday opening . Monday is a rest day for this very popular venue . All the staff are great and they are plentiful as the customers come in so do the staff increase with demand , if it is really busy a friendly local may even pull your pint for you . The customers are a cool bunch and friendly

incomers do not get frowned upon . The pub dog is lovely and not a pia . The restaurant area at the rear has the best views you are likely to find over the Teign Valley . Cold days sees two woodburners on the go and this pub is never cold , unlike some that I wont name in the surrounding area . Come and enjoy The Palk , real pub ,...

We came here as a family of 5 for food and drinks on our break to Newton Abbot. We entered and were taken to our table, asked if we wanted drinks and ordered food quite quickly. The drinks came out and food came out, the food was lovely, good portions, we all enjoyed it up to this point…. However once our food came out it was then as though we were invisible, nobody asked if everything was ok with our meals, if we wanted another drink. We sat there for half an hour with empty plates and empty glasses. Having decided that this was enough we all got up to leave and pay at the bar. We would’ve had desserts if we’d been offered, overall experience brought down by the poor...

We were camping at Hennock Hideaways and ate at the Palk Arms on Tuesday evening. It was an excellent meal. I had the ham, eggs, chips and peas which was truly amazing - extremely generous portions with thick sliced ham off the bone. In all, it was a lovely evening in a very pleasant village pub (with top quality beer too) and the owners were very welcoming, attentive and friendly. It's also a 2 minute walk from the campsite - we will be...
