My wife and I stayed for two nights at the Royal Oak - just somewhere to sleep while visiting family. However, our stay here turned into one of the highlights of our trip.|Our double room was compact, fresh and bright (with interesting rustic touches to the window wall), comfortable, plenty of hot water, everything you could want. Our hosts were attentive without being intrusive and both friendly and interesting. Our breakfasts were everything you would wish for. But the intimate walled garden seating areas and the top-level back garden - the latter giving a superb rooftop view over Dunsford - are the last word in relaxation. You couldn't possibly fail to relax within five minutes of your stay here.|Animal lovers, look out for the dog, the two cats, the rabbits and possibly the tortoise. Who needs Longleat?|If you need a bed for a night or two in this area (Dunsford, Devon) look no further than...

We came in here tonight for dinner. I just want to say to the general public, PLEASE Don’t drive past this pub! It is a little gem 💎 waiting to be discovered! The hosts were both very polite and welcoming. The food was extremely good value for money. We had to wait a while for our food BUT it was worth the wait. It was cooked fresh and tasted delicious 😋. It was a lovely community pub, and was comfortable inside. The outside and inside could do with a little ‘spruce up’ BUT I’m not going to stop that from me and my family from returning. I would be willing to pay a little more for the food because it was worth...
