Table for 8 went there on Saturday 14/01/23. Service abysmal. Thick as anything dimwit waitress leaning across the length of the table to deliver food - draping her cardigan into people’s meals. Asked her to go round and serve properly several times but she was too thick to understand and kept doing it. The same moron served two cups of coffee to someone with a heart condition who had specifically requested decaf before telling us they don’t do decaf coffee - what kind of restaurant doesn’t do decaf coffee? The food: fish and chips - batter was burnt, fish was watery and obviously cheap frozen stuff. Why did you demand to know our meals in advance? It’s all cheap cooked from frozen rubbish!! The liver and bacon was a microwave meal. Dover sole was cold. Onion rings were frozen from a cash and carry - served cold and greasy. Somewhere on their website it mentions fine dining? Gawd knows who got that idea? One of the delusional idiots pressing buttons on the microwave?! The bread and butter pudding was vile - soggy and cold. At least microwave stuff properly and check temperatures for goodness sake!! The restaurant was freezing cold on arrival. The food was awful - the service was worse. The old woman serving drinks and holding glasses by their rim was just disgusting. Place has no redeeming qualities or atmosphere at all. The only thing worse than the staff was the food. No tip left - but in hindsight, here’s one, give up running a restaurant, you’re rubbish at it! Oh, and employ staff who aren’t so thick they could live on plant food!! No food safety awareness whatsoever. Will be making a complaint to local environmental...

Held my nans wake here last Monday. Paid 500 for a buffet that was held in a room smaller than my lounge in my terrice house. (Perhaps the bigger room/conservatory is kept for more important "dos") We had a few people come and the space just wasn't there. We were crouded into a small area and made to feel like an inconvience to other customers and staff and paid 500 pound for the privilege to do so. No one was serving teas and coffees we had to awkwardly ask and often try to help ourselves even though it was out of reach. The food itself was actually very nice, lots of homemade goodies and fresh bits but the service was poor. Being a wake obviously emotions were running high, often tears of joy and sadness were heard and seen, to which grumpy old men regulars commented that my sister who had just said goodbye to her mother figure was slagged off and complained about I believe making referance to a 'banshee' oh sorry us as a family burying our nan and showing emotion is ruining your Monday afternoon pint, mate. Where's the respect?! Being a family local to the area and all of us growing up in and around Weeley. We chose the black boy with some sentiment and turns out it was impractical and uncomfortable. Terrible shame. Felt so unwelcome at times it was so awkward. I apologised to the staff as I left about the misunderstanding with their regulars and my family members. But after hearing what actually happened from others after, the regular customer was dam right disgusting about my sister and if I could go back to Monday I would have thumped him...

Brilliant pub ..been many times if they can fit you in for a meal they try very much to accommodate..we rang up on the off chance Saturday night the landlady merged us in well amongst others eating there..the tables are spotless no stickyness there. cleaned Brilliant.the dining room is spotless. .the staff always friendly and make you feel like they've known you years a good sighn of a proper pub.the old school of pub welcome 🙏..the food as usual was piping hot 🔥..wife and friend had Steak and Ale pie .mash and veg with a nice boat of hot gravy..our friends wife had Pan Fried Liver mash and veg it filled her plate very nicely..I wanted Gammon but just missed the last slice gone earlier so had the Burger 🍔 and skin on chips had it b4 with bacon and 🍅 tomatoe onion 🌰 and dressing..I said could she put and extra grilled Burger on to make half pounder she said because no Gammon the extra Burger would be free ..now that is amazing 👏 and a proper atmosphere helper ..but she is excellent at making you feel at home anyway..Great meals everyone said finished off with fruit crumble and ice cream .others bread and butter pudding and vanilla custard and lemon roulade with cream..brilliant night and food and company very good..Will go back...
