LOYALTY SCHEME DOES NOT WORK HERE
I am a lifetime Leon customer, own several of their cookbooks as well as supporting the grocery line and recommending it to friends and family over the years, so it hurts me to be writing this review. Yesterday I visited for my birthday and not only was the screen kiosk not working (I had to input each order 3x because the screen kept resetting) but I had to stand there for 20+ minutes struggling with it and where to input my loyalty/discount code. Whilst other customers came and went, I was left staring in clear frustration and at no point did a member of the team offer help. To compound this, I am disabled and so standing for a longer period of time than expected as well as having to use my hands more than expected due to the glitchy screen caused me a significant amount of pain and distress. There was no seat or wheelchair accessible desk/kiosk available. Once I finally gave up and asked for help I was told that the loyalty scheme didn’t apply— I managed to complete my order, only to be met with a screen that invited me to join the loyalty scheme! this was incredibly frustrating and mentioning it to the staff member didn’t lead to any meaningful resolution. I was then given my order in a bag that also invited me to join the loyalty scheme where Leon customers are treated like ‘royalty’. I do not feel I was treated well at all and am exceptionally disappointed, particularly considering I am a disabled customer and visited for my birthday. There should be a sign and warning on the website that the loyalty scheme does not apply to every restaurant, and certainly the kiosk and bag should have different messaging. £45 for a takeaway lunch for 3 is not the value I am used to from Leon, it’s a fast food restaurant and should not cost this much time,...
Read moreThe staff were very attentive and helpful as the self service ordering via touching the screens like at franchises like Burger King weren't working. They were very fast and efficient and nothing was too much trouble for them. I asked if they cooked their vegan patties etc on a separate grill from the meat one and they confirmed this straight away (unlike a franchise that shall remain nameless but is in violation of the Vegan Society's "seal of approval").
We just noticed that the tables at which we sat and those around us were "salt-y" ie had salt scattered on them and some had water etc on them but we saw that only two amazing ladies were doing all the work of ordering, taking orders to tables inside and out, clearing the place where trays are put etc. so we just moved to another table.
Thank you for the vegan options for myself and the carnivore options for my partner who is a committed meat eater!!
Can't wait to come around to...
Read moreStopped here for dinner after a busy day. I am quite a fan of Leon and go to the spittlefields branch in London when I can. However, this was a different experience and left feeling disappointed.
The eating area was grubby and there was minimal cutlery available. Ever tried eating a wrap, slaw and fries with a spoon? Not so easy! I left wearing more than I had consumed and there were no serviets available.
There was only two other people waiting for food, but the kitchen appeared to be challenged. The counter staff had to disappear for a while to help the kitchen - leaving the counter unattended. Also, unless I missed it, the staff member did not seem to wash her hands when moving over to...
