Decent food, very good value for money. Don't fill up on too many starters, you can order as many dishes as you want for the set price. You can always switch back to starters after your second course if you want. Smoked chicken and Prawn toasts were the highlights, loved the chef special pork chunks. Vegetable curry and tofu in black bean both good. The duck was the main dissapointment, it was very dry. Service was very friendly.

We went for lunch, food was really nice and not greasy at all. Person serving was really great with the kids as well. Thanks for the lovely meal.

Grim or Grime where do I start? We went here tonight as a party of 4 upon arrival in the car park there was a dirty rusty table that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years with 2 overflowing ashtrays on it inside was no better the carpet was beyond filthy & the decor not much different the windows also most definitely have not been cleaned for years either the service was appalling we waited nearly 30 minutes for our 1st course & they seemed to have forgotten what we ordered even though 3 large tables that came in after us had their food way before us the quality of the food was mediocre to say the least & then I used the ladies toilet well apart from it being freezing cold & in very poor decorative order both toilets literally lifted off the floor when I moved how this place remains open is beyond belief & most definitely do not order the bang bang chicken it was beyond disgusting one poor member of our party literally forced himself to eat it due to their terms & conditions he looked positively unwell by the time he had finished it this was my first visit in over 30 years & it was most definitely my last the place needs closing down for a full refurbishment and then the staff need training in customer service and hygiene along with learning how to cook good Chinese food the worst experience of a Chinese restaurant ever also a very...

Great Chinese takeaway with a varied menu which has been consistently good!

Since we moved to Romsey in 2012 we've been using the takeaways in the area, and for Chinese food we've found the Madarin Chef hard to beat. In fact when things opened up again post pandemic, our first take-away was from here!

The menu is varied and has uk-chinese restaurant staples, together with less common dishes for those who want to go off piste. Where poultry sometimes feels like an unknown quantity quality wise in restaurants, here it has always been great with the Chinese duck tasty and not over dry. Vegetables in dishes don't feel like an afterthought and all in all we really like this place.

The fried rice (egg, special, etc) is always good and has the right amount of firmness for me as opposed to being made with new steamed rice.

The staff are friendly and whilst I always order too much ( I'd like to say my eyes are bigger than my stomach, but sadly I can't pretend that's the case) that's on me! I love sesame toast but I probably shouldn't eat it all...

Thank you to the staff and owners.

This is a takeaway review so I can't in any honesty rate on Atmosphere (My five stars are to avoid any...

Having been a regular for some years, food is indisputably good, but not just once has the service been a let down. From the offset, one of the main waiters is clearly not interested in your order, and you will be lucky to get what you ordered. You may even be surprised to have your order complete, if you haven't been forgotten. New Year's Eve was the final straw. Obviously busy, the staff have no priority of order, and if you shout loud enough, or have the biggest table, you may get a half decent service. To have to try to correct your starter 3 times, waiting over an hour in the process, in my opinion, is not acceptable. Deciding to leave, the manager/owner attempted to charge half price.....for not even a quarter of the meal. A shame to say we will not be returning. Hardly a hint of an apology, couldn't really use busy as an excuse. I thought that's what they would have wanted. May be advisable to book a table mid week, when they can concentrate on the...
