Sad to post a negative review My mum, myself and our friend went out for a meal to catch up and decided to go to the Gupshill Manor as have had nice meals there in the past. We ordered our drinks and then the waitress came back to take our food order. We all picked the same meal - pan fried chicken breast with green beans, dauphinoise potatoes and black pepper sauce. I don't like green beans so asked if I could have carrots instead. The waitress was lovely and said that was fine. The meals were £15 each This was our first mistake. The food then came, not long after ordering but no drinks had arrived.... looking at the plates of food, very confused.. I don't know where these chickens came from but there would have been more meat on a pigeon breast than on our plates, plus also had a shoulder/boned part also... the meat was just two very small slices, about the size of a tipp-ex mouse. Totally non existant presentation... just thrown on the plate. My young nieces could have plated it up better. Finally, when the drinks arrived, I asked the waitress if we had the correct meals as we all had boned parts as well as very small slices of chicken. She went off to speak to the chef but as we were all hungry my companions started eating their food. The waitress came back and said yes this is what we have ordered and the boney but is part of the chicken breast..... hmmmm. She did offer to swap my meal but I was hungry so said it was ok. To be fair, it tasted nice but the carrots were past their best. The dauphinoise were ok but again, small portion. The waitress came back to take our plates and we chose our puddings. Two of us had the waffles and one had the brownie. Second mistake. The waffles were lovely, but the brownie, nice though it was, half way through eating it my friend found some plastic wrapping in it and then in her penultimate mouthfuls... yes another piece of plastic wrapping... we called the waitress over again and showed her the plastic.. she was very apologetic and went off to speak to the chef again.... 5 minutes later she came back with another apology and offered to take the brownie off the bill which we accepted. A waiter then came over and asked us if we wanted tea or coffee but as two out of three of us had a bad experience my mum wasn't willing to take the risk of a third mistake so we paid the bill and went home.. The waitress couldn't have been nicer but we will not be going back anytime soon and will be telling all our friends all about what a bad experience we had.. Poor show Gupshill... for a nice place to go that meal really wasn't great, would have had a better plate of food in Wetherspoons(no offence meant) for half the price. Perhaps a training session on presentation and serving a entire chicken breast to customers who are paying £15 for it would be an idea..

Sunday Roast Beef with pan gravy with red wine. 3 vegetables. Pudding was peanut-butter cheesecake and a mixed Berry Waffle with vanilla ice cream . Very friendly staff, quick service and dog friendly dinning in a separate area to the restaurant. Ambiance a little noisy but it is a family pub.

Beautiful pub, I was looking for a cosy country pub a good roast dinner, I was not disappointed! Delicious roast and plenty of it, staff were lovely and the open fire is always a plus. Only niggle was that the bread sharing platter was a bit pricey for what it was but still good.

This venue was booked at the last minute (initial venue cancelled) for a gathering of 8 - the 4 girls having been friends since secondary school - so a special event. It was brilliant. The staff were friendly and helpful, displaying a great ease of conversation and plenty of smiles. It goes without saying the service was efficient. The atmosphere was relaxing and festive. The food was hot, tasty and good value. Most of us decided on the pork roast - mmm delicious - especially the carrots! For afters I chose the banoffol - waffle, sliced banana, toffee sauce and ice cream. Definitely a wise choice! The one disappointment were the toilets - not a pleasant aroma in the ladies, no soap only hand sanitizer, one toilet door missing a door knob and one of the two toilets blocked. To be fair, when the blockage was mentioned to the staff, they were anxious to sort it. That review I meant to post ages ago!

We went again today with the same friends. Again the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The staff very welcoming. It was a bit chilly when we were shown to our table but no sooner had we mentioned it, the radiator was blasting out heat! Meals were really delicious - the salmon wrapped in smoked salmon was beautiful, accompanied by lots of new potatoes and vegetables. The fish pie, roast beef and the battered fish were equally delicious, apparently. The lemon curd tart was a great dessert to finish off with although I am not one for thick cream - which the tart was sitting on - I would have preferred it without. No worries though, I just didn't eat it. Treacle sponge went down well too. A great meal - thank you. I was disappointed that the salmon salad I'd decided on from the website menu was not available. Chicken and bacon salad was fine. Scrummy waffle with caramel sauce and ice cream for dessert. As always staff friendly...

Visited on a Friday afternoon for a meal with two wheelchair users. Disabled carparking spaces were great, access into into building was fine but was disappointed that the tables set up for lunch time service near the bar were not accesible as they required either a step up or step down to access with no ramp section available. I asked a member of staff behind the bar if there were any accesible tables and after speaking to their manager they offered to seat us at one of the two available coffe tables surrounded by settees. Obviously these tables would not be suitable to have a meal at reasonably and I asked again if we could instead be seated at a table in a section of the pub which did not appear to be in use (i.e. no one sat at the tables but doors to that section were open and the tables partially laid). After checking again with management they agreed to seat us at one of these tables and quickly brought over cutlery and menus. The room we were in was set to the side and so we could not see any of the main part of the pub and basically had an empty restuarant to ourselves. We were grateful that they were able to accomodate us but it was a disappointment that we ate in a quiet, out of the way part as the main section was not fuly accessible. Even the bar had a step up so even if we were not going in for food it wouldn't really have been suitable.

The food was nice and the pricing very reasonable. The pub was set in a nice location and the surrounding area was lovely. The disabled toilet was locked and we were unable to use it. One wheelchair user who had some mobility had to walk to one of the other toilets on the other side of the bar, which was difficult for them, and the toilet was not particularly clean.

The waitress who served us was a newstarter and did a good job accomodating for us as best...
