Updated post . We received a message asking us to give the Bell Inn another try. We did and so pleased we did, lots of gluten free options on the menu. We only had a sandwich, gluten free bread , served with a fresh salad and crisps, it was very good. The lady serving us was helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going back for a main meal. Well done all the staff at the Bell . Previous review -On the website it states most of the menu can be made gluten free,, see picture below, when I asked, I was told the only option was jacket potato. Not impressed. The rest of the party had the burger and all day breakfast which they said was good. The side salad was fresh and tasty. The capacino coffee had lumps of dried milk in it.

The vegan Sunday roast was very underwhelming, quite basic and lacking much flavour (basically it was pastry stuffed with beetroot and a slice of melted cheese with potatoes and side steamed carrots, green beans and white cabbage). However, the most ridiculous dish is the vegan apple crumble dessert, it was whipped cream, cooked fruit, and raw oats poured on top (see pic). Dessert you wouldn't serve in your own house. There's a very long way to go to bring the vegan food and options to the standards of the non vegan food especially when same price paid (£17!) and we all know beef is not cheaper than beetroot. Nice working crew despite unexperienced (their first day). The place is cosy and beautiful in a sunny day

Great food in a bit of a dated environment. It has everything a good pub needs, like an outside area, plenty of parking, WiFi, dog friendly. The place looks and feels worn out, so the environment isn't that nice. The menus look like someone typed them out in Microsoft Word in 10 minutes. The food is really good though, and the staff are great. The steak with pepper sauce was fantastic and there was loads on the plate. The desserts are really nicely presented. Not the cheapest place around but it's a fair price for food this good.

Mother’s Day was fast approaching so I decided to book a table the previous week for Sunday lunch. Sunday came an we were looking forward to trying out the menu. Upon arriving with my family I was asked for my name which I disclosed to a rather blank look. Asked again to receive another blank look. The member of staff then fetched the manager to tell me that there was no booking under my name and I must have booked the other pub called the Bell in Cheltenham. We left rather disappointed thinking that we had made a genuine mistake. Later on that day thinking that I can’t of made this mistake I checked my phone records to find out that I had actually phoned the bell at shurdington. That evening I called and asked to speak to the manager who was busy and would call me back. No phone call and no apology for what is clearly their mistake. A real shame and I will not...

Very disappointed - suggest choosing a different pub for dinner.

I had an almost inedible fish and chips dinner that comprised of very soggy/slimey batter, was oddly tasting and with strange yellow colouration and tinges. We also had poor service - the waitress tipped hot gravy over my companion, staining both clothing and shoes.

Having emailed The Bell with feedback and given the opportunity to remedy, they have chosen not to provide any customer service by acknowledging or responding. I feel I have no other choice but to warn others to chose an alternative establishment - there are plenty of pubs, restaurants, cafe's in Cheltenham and surrounding suburbs.

I hope while saddening to scribe, people find this review helpful when selecting a pub to dine at, in...
