First time here, and we were not disappointed! Lovely big car park, a mini petting zoo for kids, and the beer garden was stunning! We booked a table and we're swiftly shown to it by a really friendly staff member. Drinks were ordered and brought quickly, and our food order was taken promptly as well. All five of us had a starter, main and a pudding, and each one looked and tasted delicious! Even though the place was really busy, the service was excellent, really attentive. I had the chicken starter, cooked to perfection, and with a lovely ginger dip. For my main, I had the pork loin with noodles and paktoi, and again, the flavours were beautiful, the pork was cooked just right. My final choice was warm apple cobbler with Custard. It really was melt in the mouth! Superb evening with all five plates clean after every course! The atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly teamed with such lovely staff it made for the perfect evening. It's very reasonably priced as well! Thank you, House,...
Read moreWe were absolutely blown away by the facilities at The House in the Tree in Cheltenham. This pub goes above and beyond to cater to families, offering a petting zoo, a children’s football pitch, and a massive play garden with a climbing frame. They even have an ice cream hut, which was a delightful treat for the kids.
Although we had already eaten before arriving, we couldn't resist trying the food and ordered a lasagna to share. It was outstanding! The kids' meals are also a fantastic deal at just £5.75 each.
Jason, the landlord, was incredibly kind and gave our son some food to feed the animals, which made his day. It's very rare to find somewhere that caters so well to families. We spent over two hours there, and our little boy didn't want to leave!
We’re so glad we came and cannot wait to visit...
Read moreReally disappointed after reading all the reviews and this pub always having a good reputation. When trying to book on a week day we were told they want children out of the pub by 7pm so had to eat at 5pm. Made us feel slightly nervous about going being new parents and only just starting to venture out. So we decided to cancel our booking as we wanted somewhere we felt more welcome. However when calling up the person on the other end of the phone started a conversation with someone whilst in the middle of a conversation with myself and rather cheekily then asked me to repeat myself. Felt this was very rude. Considering they advertise themselves as a local family pub with animals and a friendly face this wasn't our experience and we are glad we've cancelled our booking! Won't be attempting to try this...
