We recently visited a place around East Peckham and found out this place, Red Fort Gurkha, is like, totally different now. Seriously, if you haven't been lately, you're missing out. They've got new owners, and they've completely redone the whole place.
As soon as we walked in, we were like, "Wow!" It felt so much nicer. They've done a really good job with the decorations, it's all warm and cozy, perfect for just chilling with friends or even if you're celebrating something special. It's got that nice mix of modern and traditional, which is cool.
But honestly, the food is the thing that really blew us away. They do this mix of Nepali and Indian food, and it's just amazing. Every dish was packed with flavour, you could tell they used really good spices and fresh stuff. It wasn't just your regular curry, you could taste the difference. It was like, layers of flavour, and we just couldn't get enough.
And those spices! You could really tell they were top-notch. It made everything taste so much better. It's not like your average curry house, that's for sure.
The people working there were so nice too. Really friendly and helpful, they made us feel right at home. They were always checking on us, making sure we had everything we needed.
Oh, and they've got loads of parking, which is a big plus around there. They’ve thought of everything, even the chairs were comfy!
If you're looking for somewhere really good to eat, you've got to try Red Fort Gurkha. Seriously, visit this place while you're around and you won't be disappointed.
It's like they've given the place a whole new life, and it's definitely worth checking out. We...
Read moreJust had a take away as Red Fort was recommended by my mate Dave who runs the handy store in Wateringbury as its his favorite curry house. I asked for a veggie jalfrazi off menu, no problem I had special fried pilau rice peshwari narn an onion bhaji, me wife had onion bhaji, bombay aloo, chicken korma, pilau rice, butterfly prawns and a garlic narn. It came in next to no time piping hot and it was just really delicious. There was so much of it you could easily fed another 4 of us so we can't wait to tuck in for left overs. I have to say it all of it was just amazing and really really tasty. You can definitely taste the love and care put into all the dishes we had. So next time you fancy curry, go Nepalese instead and give Red Fort a call. You'll be really glad you did.
It's a 1000/1000 from us. Looking forward to eating with Red Fort...
Read moreHad our second takeaway and the first time the food was great. But just received one dish (which we had the first time) that tastes like it has some chemical contaminant. Very different taste to before and has left a burning sensation in my partners throat. We spoke with the restaurant and was told it is spicy a d we were confused. We explained it is not a food taste but a chemical one but they did not recognise what we were trying to describe. They told us we could have a refund if we “dropped it”. I explained I am very concerned about my partner and they did not seem to really care. A real shame as our first experience was excellent. Some consideration and care would have been helpful but just met with a bad attitude and a want to cover it up. I will be taking this further and will be having the dish tested. Very concerning and...
