We dined at Molesworth Arms to celebrate our friend's birthday and go out for a meal together with our friends on our last day at Clawford Lakes. Monique and Keith were both very warm, welcoming and friendly. We had booked the table for 7 over the phone and we would recommend anyone visiting to do the same. We ordered the pies from their Thursday menu and each one of us who had the pie were left wanting for more. They were exceptionally tasty, with good quality produce used to make them. We also ordered their slow cooked venison and lamb shank which was succulent. We are a fan of Greek food and decided to order 2 sides of broken potatoes and feta. Absolutely everything hit the spot. The desserts were also mouthwatering. We ordered brownies and toffee. We would highly recommend this pub if you are in the area and staying at Clawford lakes. It is a 12-13 minute drive from the lakes. We were looked after and felt the food and the hospitality both were of an exceptionally high standard.

We had a lovely stay. Room was very clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The courtyard garden and balcony gave it a special feel. The hosts were charming, very attentive without being obtrusive. Food in the bar and breakfast was delicious and plenty to choose from on the menu. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little bit of luxury in a quiet village, not too far from yhe sea.

We went for a meal on a Saturday night. Both hosts were extremely polite and courteous and the food was fresh and absolutely delicious. We ate the small plates an... additional bonus that much if it is how grown. One of the best meals we have had in a while and very reasonably priced.

My husband I visited without a reservation, and we were warmly welcomed into the restaurant. The decision of what to choose was a challenge, as the entire menu was tempting. We were super greedy, and chose from each of the offerings for 3 courses... The first... Scallops with chorizo, and brandy cream for me, boar pate with smoked quails eggs and grilled cheddar for my husband. The presentation was divine... The taste spectacular! Everything was cooked to perfection, and the flavour combinations were incredible. Though rude, we didn't care, as we both felt it essential that we tasted each other's plate to share the experience of such great ingredients combined with serious skill of the chef and team. Next I had rib-eye, hubby chose traditional fish and chips. I'm out of adjectives to describe my delight again at the quality and flavour of the food presented but I'll have a go . I think a magic wand must be located in the kitchen somewhere, as the steak had a wonderful crusty bark, with a melt in the mouth juicy centre, wonderfully seasoned, and cooked (rare) to perfection. The rich creamy brandy peppercorn sauce was the perfect accompaniment. Hubby was also delighted as his fish was fresh, flaky soft and moist, enveloped in light and crispy golden batter. Just as you would imagine the best fish and chip supper to be... Again, the chips had been blessed with a wave of the kitchen wand.... Fluffy and light inside, with a crispy and golden 'shell'. The king of chips! Desert... Strawberry and clotted cream cheesecake for hubby, coconut raspberry pavlova for me. The pavlova was light and crispy with the perfect level of chew in the centre, lots of lovely cream, and tangy fresh raspberries... Sweet, creamy, tangy, light... A perfectly balanced ending. The same can be said for the cheesecake... Tangy fruit and coulis topping a creamy but light centre, sitting on a crunchy rich biscuit base. Combine fresh, high quality ingredients with a clearly talented kitchen team, a warm and friendly atmosphere and front of house and you have a hit... This place is a number one hit! "Thanks for a wonderful evening" to all at the Molesworth Arms... I highly recommend a meal here to everyone in the area, and will certainly add it to my list of must-visit eateries should we return to the area in...

Just returned home from two amazing nights stay at the Superb Molesworth Arms.||||From the warm welcome on arrival from Monique to the equally warm Goodbye from Kit, our Wedding Anniversary time away couldn't have gone better.||||The establishment that is Molesworth Arms is simply wonderful. Our Double Room with ensuite was so cosy and welcoming, and tastefully decorated. At the end of our days out exploring, it was an absolute treat to know we were going back to an amazingly comfortable bed and beautifully laid out room. Oh, and the shower is absolutely brilliant. When I say it's a power shower, it really is.||||As for our anniversary evening in the restaurant, it was a night blessed by the first class, super friendly hosting of Kit & Monique. The food they produced was top draw tasty. Fresh ingredients and lots of love go in to the food, and it shows by the presentation and taste. Our bottle of Aussie wine really complimented our meals also. The restaurant itself is a place of real relaxation, beautiful decor and a joy to eat a meal in. We were so chilled throughout the evening, and if we weren't so shattered from our day out, we would have stayed up for another bottle of wine!||||The location of Molesworth is ideal. A quiet village that is 20 minutes drive from Bude and a little more minutes to Bideford.||||As for Kit & Monique, they are the most loveliest of hosts who have the warmest and genuine welcomes. They were attentive to making our short stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible. Kit cooks up a superb English breakfast and it was great conversing with him during breakfast. And as a barista I can state that the coffee served up is very good indeed from a local roastery.||||When we saw on booking.com that their rating was 9.8 out of 10 with every review 5 star, we had a feeling we'd be going to a decent place. When you stay, you truly realize how good the place is and how good Kit & Monique are at hosting.||||We will be returning, that is a guarantee.||||From our hearts, we thank you Kit & Monique for your truly awesome welcome, hosting and superb cooking. You both do what you do well, the standards are high and we look forward to returning to your beautiful place. Thank you for making our 6th Wedding Anniversary a memorable one x||||Many...
