Myself, my partner and our 2 children visited here last week. Food was good although chips were something you could cook at home and I could have cooked them better. We had a few off our plates and left the rest. Staff were rude. Almost like they could tell we were 'tourists'. On paying the bill as I took my change I said 'fabulous, thank you' walking away from the gentleman to leave the lady behing the bar with very short dark hair in a mocking voice said 'fabulous!' I quiet honestly thought it was so condescending. I was so shocked. I didn't expect a remark like that. We didn't do anything anything wrong and were polite the whole time we were sat in there an eating. In my eyes, 'tourists' like us are who are keeping your business open so why act like that? We came back last Wednesday to sit and enjoy the quay and would have probably eaten in there again buy we decided to take a packed lunch instead. Needless to say when come back we will NOT be eating here again just purely because of the service. Extremely...

The Wreckers Retreat, what can you say. We'll it's a great Retreat when the weather turns or the wind blows the cobwebs from you 🤣. No realy it's a great place. We had a snack on one day while walking back to a local camp site, which we stayed and returned to have a bar meal after we saw them arriving at other tables. This place is located in a place that if any where else would charge though a fortune dude to the monopoly they have on the visitors, but they don't. I found the prices very good and the portions of food a good size. The staff professional, speedy and polite. For us they're not a million miles away, so would we return, yep. So the food, Ham sandwich- side salad and a pot of coleslaw. On our return the next day we had Local Pasty and chips and...

Rather disappointed by the food - very basic stuff such a shame/waste given the incredible location! Had cod, chips & peas. Cod was ok and batter was thin and crispy which was good. But the chips were no better than I cook in my oven at home and the peas were watery/overcooked. My wife had scampi - tasted good but again it did look identical to the stuff you can buy in bags in the supermarket! It's not expensive so I guess I can't be too upset but I always want a place to thrive and do well and as I said before it seems such a waste of an opportunity to have this amazing sunset viewing coastal location and not combine it with fantastic food. The staff were friendly and professional just need to team it with...

Great pub great food great people running it. They continually ask if all is well but not to the point of being annoying. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to accommodate you. All the tables were booked for 7.30 and at the last 50 mins hubby decided to have food. The manager told us all the tables were booked but not to worry as he would have found somewhere for us if we wanted. Luckily there was a cancellation so we could stay where we were. Lovely views from the front of the pub very rough and wild looking rocks. Pop in eat have a drink and enjoy the pics and portholes on the wall.

We walked across the cliff tops and saw The Wrecker's Retreat before us like a mirage. Whether it was the time of day (around 3:30) I'm not sure but we received a luke warm response from staff and there was very little atmosphere in the bar. However the cold beer (draught Korev) and the view far made up for the welcome. The outside view and seating is quite possibly the best'pub garden' we have ever visited so the walk along the cliff tops was well worth it.
