Jeff & Eddies — Restaurant in Uttlesford

It's nice to see the little Station shop being used. Many years ago it was a fantastic newsagent and sweetshop, and for the last 20 or so years a cafe. It has the perfect location on the end of Station Road and the Cambridge platform.

I thought - They must sell many cups of coffee to all the commuters, and know how to make a decent cup. So I popped in for a coffee. It's a very minamilist setup. Some benches round the edges, some sweets under the till and a counter. Fine for a busy cafe I guess.

Americano to take away please. No milk or sugar thanks. Unfortunately the coffee was not nice, tasteless and uninteresting.

The extraction was too fast, so you need to get that big espresso machine properly setup and grind the beans finer. The water coming out was almost boiling, so far too hot for topping up a cup. Sadly not...

Popped in for some lunch, ended up having a breakfast baguette, sausage, egg, bacon and mushrooms with a love hot coffee which turned into 2. The food was lovely and hot and very tasty, the baguette was super soft, what a lovely little café, I'd highly recommend to everyone that's passing. Ordered a flat white which I asked to have extra milk. Watched the server add boiling water, ruining the coffee shot completly. This is not a flat white, no where near. As for the tiny tuna mayo roll that I was charged £3.80 for. Disappointing and I feel like I wasted my money. Not a happy customer this end unfortunately. Won't be...
