I recently visited Pret at Stansted Airport and ordered a caramel macchiato, as I often do when traveling. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. The staff member who served me responded with unnecessary attitude when I placed my order, saying, “We’re not Starbucks,” in a tone that felt dismissive and condescending — as if I didn’t know where I was.
When I tasted the coffee, there was no hint of caramel at all, which is the main reason I order that drink — it adds flavor without needing extra sugar. I even tried adding sugar and stirring thoroughly, but it still tasted off. I returned to explain the issue to the same staff member, who rolled his eyes and added more syrup, then told me I needed to “mix it up.” At that point, it felt like he wasn’t even listening — I had already mixed it and clearly explained the issue.
This interaction left me feeling frustrated and unwelcome, when all I wanted was to relax and enjoy a coffee before my flight. I’ve had caramel macchiatos at other Pret locations and never had this kind of experience. Very...
   Read moreI ordered an oat latte whit cold milk, and i specified to the lady that not to heat the milk, but to serve it directly from the carton. At that point the lady says to me: so you want a white americano?, and I said no, I would like an oat latte with cold milk. The lady looks at me again and exclaims: "for me it's a white Americano, I don't understand your order"(whit attitude). At that point I explained to the lady that in the americano there is water and in the oat latte there is no, and that if I wanted an americano I would have asked for an americano. The lady still not understanding, made me speak directly to the barista, in Italian which is my native language, hoping to get my coffee, and the lady exclaimed: "if you get the wrong coffee, at this point it's not my fault". I understand that working under pressure when the shop is busy is a hard thing, but madam allow me to tell you that your customer service was terrible. Upon getting to the checkout the female member of staff practically shouted at me for my order, and then proceeded to barge other staff out of the way to get to things. I ordered a skinny cappuccino but was presented with a standard cappuccino - I asked the female member of staff if it was skinny and she then proceeded to speak to the female barista in a foreign language which luckily I could understand. The barista basically said it was not skinny but 'what does it matter?'. The female member of staff then tried to hand me the cappuccino - I asked 'is it skinny?' And she shrugged and waved her arm towards the barista as if she couldn't change it and didn't care. I took the cappuccino as it clearly wasn't worth trying to correct the order - they obviously did not care about customer service one bit or getting the order right. God forbid someone with an allergy ordering here!!!!! I'll never use this Pret again. Terrible...
