The Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Uttlesford

I’m afraid my experience echoes that of Adam Winfield’s.

After a brief stop at this café on 11th March, I’ve returned home today to find a parking ‘invoice’ on my doormat. We were on our way back to Mansfield and decided to grab some breakfast.

‘Clear signage to input registration’ – where exactly? My wife and I followed the clear signs to the café. It wasn’t busy, we ordered takeaway breakfast cobs, and I even used the toilet facilities. At no point did we see any signage about parking, nor did the lady serving us mention it.

It’s frustrating to support a local business only to be hit with an unreasonable parking arrangement like this.

14 measly minutes + £9.90 spent = a £100 invoice and the stress of having to fight it.

Another vote for McDonalds. Truly...

We were a party of 6 adults, my wife rang the day before to check that they could cope with 3 of the party being coeliacs so requiring gluten free breakfast, they confirmed they could accommodate us. They made breakfast for 3 of us who did not require gluten free, they then cleaned all the work areas to ensure no cross contamination and then cooked the none gluten breakfasts, my son could not have the sausages as they had gluten in them so they gave him additional bacon instead, no problem. Thremhall Park coffee shop is pleasantly situated in a clean, modern building. Its friendly staff cater largely for the business centre workers and clientele, and some passing trade 'in the know'. In the warm months you can sit outside on a lawn under a tree. Offered are filled sandwiches and rolls, cakes, main meals and specials. It's the kind of set-up and style you might find in a city office quarter. A particular special can be roast pork sandwich filling, from a daily freshly cooked and warm joint; sells out pretty quickly.
