It's a nice place and I'd definitely go again. We had 4x Sunday carvery, 3 regular and I had a large to see what the difference was. It's a larger plate AND a piece of 'pie of the day' to go with your lunch. Alright if you're a big eater (I'm currently in a transitional really fat git going down to just fat git size) so was worth the punt. It's OK. OK it's pie, it's not gonna rock your world and obviously there's less space on the plate for the veggies but hey ho. Going along the carvery, meat cut by 'the man' , onto spuds, carrots, broccoli etc but right at the end there's a dish that's a bit wierd. It's like a mix up of all the other things you've already added to your plate. So, when the peas, carrots, etc are running out further up the line and the cooks take those trays of food off to swap for fresh trays, those leftover bits are put in a new tray with a bit of everything thrown in there and served back up at the end. I'm not sure. But, a spoonful went on the plate, and it was OK. Service is bang on. Establishments like this have to deliver on quality service, from bar staff to servers, which I, as a paying punter really appreciate. Atmosphere again, lively, busy, clean place. Plenty of space between tables, all the staff in uniform looked on point, looks like a place that employs young lads n lasses, like college students who need a bit of a steady job for some income and I absolutely LOVE that so 10/10 for that. I worked a paper round x1 morning, a milk round x 5 mornings AND in a pub 3 nights a week during my O Levels so I know how good it feels to put a shift or 2 in for some spends. Makes you appreciate money and your worth growing up. So total score gets...
Read moreCobblers is great value for money for sunday dinners or a quick bite to eat out. The soft drinks can be a little pricy but the food is pretty solid. Only downside is their yorkshire puddings leave a little to be desired but everything else is nice, especially the fried stuffing! You do need to book during busy Sunday times as it does get very busy. Only downside to Cobblers is even when you have prebooked (they've done this to me twice over the past month) you get lumped onto a small table right where people are queuing for the Sunday buffet, so much so, you can't even get your chair out. On the second time it happened to me I did ask the waitress if I could move though and she sorted me out another table straight away where I could actually sit down. I do think it would be worthwhile them actually rearranging the seating area or not booking those tables out during the busy times for Sunday lunch to make people feel more comfortable. I did realise as we got moved, another couple got put at that table and they had the same issue and left rather than asking for...
Read moreFirst time visit today, came for a Sunday dinner with family.
Prices, very reasonable for carvery amd drinks which was a pleasent suprise, staff are very friendly and helpful, they don't stop either it was like watching bees knock about here there and everywhere, one last nearly sent me flying mind but with how busy they was on a Sunday I get it.
Food was very nice, selection is vast with choices galore, cooked really good and my only gripe (subjective) I do not like the mash and to be honest none of us did out of all 5 of us, luckily was loads to choose from so not a big deal since everything else was spot on.
Place was spotless, hard to achieve when that busy, play area outside for nippers was sound and little one with us loved it.
Parking is a mission though and loads parked on the street but with a place this good I can really understand why.
Honestly looking forward to returning, I think my wife would have given 6 stars if she could she really enjoyed it.
Thankyou, was a great dinner and service, made...
