A small group of us enjoyed Christmas Dinner yesterday at Amelia’s. The traditionally decorated dining room, and warm friendly welcome from the staff was much appreciated. Our table, complete with Christmas crackers looked lovely. Starters included a Spicy Parsnip soup, and Pate which was my choice and much enjoyed. Although there were other options, including Vegetarian, we all chose Turkey for our main course. Beautifully cooked, melt in the mouth meat with all the traditional accompaniments. Roast potatoes, parsnips and honey glazed carrots. Sprouts, swede and red cabbage…and proper gravy! Wine or soft drinks were included. Then came Christmas pud, (other options available) followed by delicious mince pies with an almond crumble topping, accompanied by pots of tea or coffee…and After Eight Mints. The service was faultless, staff attentive without being intrusive. All in all, a really delightful, memorable experience. Thank you Amelia’s, we...
Read moreI was very disappointed with what was offered there today. The meat was cold, and the veg we had was luke warm at best!. Only served roasties, no mash or boiled spuds. Beef was tasteless, but the pork was nice. One of the servers didn't know the difference between crumble and tart after saying that crumble was available🫣 TBH I've had better and warmer food at Toby's. Once bitten twice shy...won't be back! Having received the below reply, which is NOT true, nobody was late!!, they are clearly trying to deflect their service today by apportioning...

Wonderful vintage atmosphere, setting, and the food is outstanding. Breakfast order was taken in a timely manner by courteous staff. Filter coffee for two that accompanied our breakfast came in a huge (lasted an hour and a half) coffee pot with a cute vintage knitted tea cosy. Vintage and nostalgic dainty China tea cups and saucers to drink from were a delight!
Food arrived hot and beautifully presented. Portion sizes were excellent! Produce was flavoursome! Da iawn Chef! Eating here reminds me of eating at my grandparents house.
No planes arrived while we visited, but plenty of birds of prey seen from the windows flying across the freshly cut fields that surround the cafe.
Ooh I must add that the cheesecakes at the counter...
