Atmosphere: Overall when we first arrived the Atmosphere was calm and Relaxed which was great, but later on during my stay a band came in and started playing loud music, it was nice at first but then got a little but repetitive afterwards. It also became very busy when the band came in, but that was expected as in addition to this the football was on. Food: The food was absolutely incredible, I ordered a BBQ chicken pizza and it was brilliant. You can tell the staff in the kitchen care about the quality and your enjoyment and they kept it very consistent throughout the evening. Would highly recommend checking out the rest of the menu as there was a great variety of food options for all people from specific dietary needs, picky eaters or people who are vegetarian or vegan as such. Overall food is great for me. Service: Now this was a quite controversial topic throughout my meal, but I want to start with the positives. The staff were very good to us during our meal especially the child workers, If you want to know what I mean by 'children' I mean 13-18 Years of age, because in the U.K Children aged 13 and older may work in establishments like restaurants or cafes if they have something called a work permit, hours and such vary depending which county your in. You can find more information about child employment on your county website, but moving on. The staff were very good constantly checking if we need anything and taking our empty glasses and such. But over to the negative side of things, the food orders were mixed up during the evening because when we ordered we were told our food would come out at the same time, but no. We waited over an hour for our food and when it was served only about two of us got our meals and by the time the rest came out which took an additional 20 minutes we had already finished. Apparently the staff weren't trained in the table numbers so our food which was meant for our table got served to another table, but keep in mind these people came in afterwards and got our food before us, but when the rest of the food was served the person on the other table got their burger as we got the exact same orders that the people received before us, hence what caused the mix up, but basically our food got mixed up with another table. But that's an area to improve on. Overall good restaurant and stay, would recommend coming.

We booked a table of 12 on Friday evening, upon our first order of drinks arriving, a waiter dropped two ballon glasses of G&T all over my husbands back, coat and our friends handbag. The waiter did not apologise or even make any gestures to show any remorse. We even had to ask for tissues five minutes later to try and clean ourselves. Straight after this, the landlord came over and shouted at us, apparently some of us had been swearing (in conversation, not at staff) and very aggressively told us we had been warned and if we continued to swear he would kick us out. Attitude of the landlord was appalling. None of us were aggressive or rude to any of the staff. The landlord could have handled the situation much better. All he had to say was keep the noise down and watch your language. Instead he flew off the handle and threatened us. So within five minutes of being in the restaurant we’d had drinks spilt all down us, no apology or attempt to clean us up and threatened to kick us out. Upon telling the landlord what had happened , his attitude was well accidents happen and I’m sure he has apologised, no, no he had not apologised. With that he said well I will apologise for him, with an attitude and insincere. The starters were lovely. The main meal was disappointing. I had Fish Chips and Mushy peas. The peas came in a dipping sauce dish, tiny. Pic attached. As the staff then cleared the table, another member of staff dropped a cheesy sauce dish all down the back of one our friends. She quickly apologised and immediately ran to get tissues. No problem! She apologised and cleaned her up promptly. Needless to say we won’t be back again which is a shame as last year when we came it was fantastic. Our bill was in excess of £500 No discount for spilling drinks and food over us, therefore no tips left.

A lovely find at the end of a nice outing. Ordered the Pork Schnitzel but unfortunately due to a busy lunch time they were fresh out. Decided on a beef burger and honestly I'm kind of glad the Schnitzel shortage forced my hand. The burger was juicy and well presented with a fantastic taste. Side salad was beautifully arranged with star fruit and dragon fruit and the chips were an absolute pleasure to eat. My wife is gluten free due to allergies, and they offered a full selection of gluten-free options both in terms of bread ( she had the camembert starter) and even delicious gluten-free pizza. The staff were also lovely and extremely helpful to us weary hikers with guidance on the local area and even ordering us a taxi. I'll be back here soon no doubt, and next time I'm looking forward to trying more of what this place has to offer, and I recommend stopping in if you are in the area.

The price does not reflect the quality at all.

For the price we paid we were expecting quality food, but it was clear by the starters that wasnt the case when the £6 garlic bread was as dry as overcooked toast and had no garlic flavour at all. As for the mains, the beef burgers (which we had 4 portions of) were slapped in a very dry floury bun and the meat itself was gristly and unflavoursome, being worse than even a supermarket frozen one. We also asked for 3 to be without cheese but only 1 came without cheese which was a bad error on their behalf which they almost tried to charge us extra for when we didnt even want it. The welsh lamb was nice although quite fatty, but for just over £22 per portion i would have expected the side veg to be cooked properly and not still be hard. None of us even bothered to order a dessert based on the quality of the previous 2 courses and the fact we didnt want to contribute any more money when the food was severely lacking.

We had a table booked for 7.00pm however we were told it was not ready and had to wait an exta 35 minutes to get the table we booked in advance. There were hardly any glasses available for a large portion of time, along with a shortage of menus and the tables we not flat which made it difficult to stand glasses on. The music was far too loud and we couldnt hear or even speak to each other.

The place is clearly understaffed as they had regular customers stepping in for service but this review is not in critique of the waiters and waitresses, i just think the quality of the food was appaling for the unreasonable prices we paid for each item. Yes there were longer wait times due to lack of waiters, but business does not affect the quality of the food to be so poor.

We were also almost charged extra for the coleslaw that came with the burgers even though it was on the menu as a set meal? Luckily this was noticed by us so we got it removed as well as the service charge as the service was shocking.

I would definatley not reccomend the Black Rock Beach Club to anybody, due to their extortionate pricings for both drinks and food as well as the bad quality meals that were served to us. You would be better off going to the schooner fish and chip shop which is a fraction of the price and at least 5 times the quality, or simply buying a frozen meal from the supermarket and...
