Blinkin Owl — Restaurant in Wales

Popped in for some lunch today as I sometimes do....front entrance was locked but people already dining inside!?....phoned the pub and a young lady let me in....the side entrance was apparently open!.... stood at the bar and was ignored by both young ladies....one lady in particular completely blanked me when it was my turn to be served!.... certainly no smile not even so much as a 'hello'....it's not the first time bar staff have ignored me here....I have simply walked out in the past....this time I asked for the manager....turned out the manager (and indeed landlady to boot!) was one of the young ladies who had been ignoring me!....I explained that the other young lady had blanked me and that I do at least expect a cursory greeting from bar staff...who wouldn't?!....to be fair she did offer something of an apology....then explained the young lady couldn't speak because of recent dental surgery....I already knew she had had dental surgery....as she was telling the customer before me all about it!....so clearly she still had the power of speech!....the landlady made it clear that she wasn't really interested and I certainly wasn't getting any TLC!....never mind.... always dislike complaining and find it embarrassing but customer service in the UK sometimes simply has to be experienced to...

My hubby & I had Sunday lunch at the Blinkin Owl, OMG, what an experience, the food was fantastic, we both had roast turkey with an extra portion on a separate plate, as requested, between us, a dish of vegetables each & an extra portion of Cauli & Leek Cheese, the presentation was so good, it looked like something from a Michelin star restaurant, my hubby had a starter & I had my favourite dessert, American pancakes with red berries, ice cream & choc & toffee sauce, try it, its out of this world, the staff were brilliant & Gavin, the manager, was really attentive & looked after us really well, if we could give marks out of 10, it would have to be a well deserved 20, it was that good, the place was spotlessly clean & all covid regulations were strictly adhered to so we felt very comfortable there, we'll done Gavin & all the staff, particularly to Ollie & Jack for the wonderful meal, never mind the Plaice, it's Sunday lunch for us...

We arrived to the smell of roast dinners being cooked, we suddenly felt ravenous. After a short queue to the bar, we announced our arrival and gave our booking name. We were told which table was ours and we placed our order for drinks and food. We sat at our table having a chat and enjoying the ambience and to our surprise, our food arrived within 5 minutes. We were asked if we wanted sauces and we requested mint sauce which was supplied quickly. The food was delicious and we quickly devoured it. We ordered a pudding each but I am afraid that by then, my eyes were bigger than my belly and it beat me. The staff are efficient and friendly and the food was delicious.
