We stopped in this pub after a long day of hiking the Brecon Beacons, and it was the perfect end to our day. The beer was good and at less than £5 a pint the price was great! The bartender and patrons were friendly. They weren’t serving food the night we came so we had to go to a nearby restaurant, but we heard there would be music so decided to return for another pint afterwards. Very cosy and friendly atmosphere.

Food was fantastic. My wife had gammon, chips, mushrooms, peas, onion rings and an egg and it was a really good portion. I had the bridge burger with one of the biggest beef patty I think I've ever had. Brie bites for starter were amazing. Lovely friendly staff and a lovely seat next to a roaring fire. We'll worth a visit.

Went for an amazing walks around the valley. Some stunning views and some interesting wildlife. Finish the walk at the pub for a well deserved Sunday lunch. Was able to sit outside over looking the bridge and the river. My lunch was delicious and the service was great. Overall I enjoyed my hole day out.

After looking online at the food, thought it was going to be a nice night out. How wrong I was, as we walked in it was very disorganised when eventually got seated we was put by the main bar. Which would have been fine but it was very loud with the every day punters there. There was alot of food to offer however, a simple chicken dish wasn't too be found. My partner had a pizza which was good however, left a plastic balloon taste in the mouth. I myself had the pork belly with mash and gravy, this threw me it honestly tasted horrific. The mustard mash was just seeds in the mash, the onion gravy was just jar onions been put in the gravy to be served. Pork belly was majority fat, and seasonal veg wasn't worth it.

After expressing my dislike with the food have only had maybe a mouth full of the pork belly I was then charged half price for my meal, I was looked up and down and stated your not going to be hungry as you picked at it. I was generally starving and wasn't even asked was there anything else I would have wanted instead. Generally really...

Unacceptable.....We sat in the cellar which had nice decor and could have done with a bit of a dust but okay. The barmaid was nice. She served us pleasently. At first we were the only 2 and ordered our food at 1830 the kitchen was open. We ordered battered brie for starter which was nice And pasta for main. The pasta was so garlicky and I love garlic, it ruined the dish. The hunter chicken was fine but the chips weren't great. We waited 2 hours. We raised this after our meal. Hoping for an on site solution. And this wait to be communicated to kitchen staff. Were told give us a shout, we had. As had the new barmaid. The owner (?) then proceeded to tell off the barmaid and the wait was put down to her being new. She was the only one who had actually given us any apology. No apology issued no good will gesture. Now mainly wished I hadn't complained about waiting for 2 hours as the barmaid who is the nicest thing about the pub got it...

I second everything said by Carl Fitzgerald below. Nice surroundings, decent food and friendly bar staff. However, a family 40th birthday party ruined by a couple of rude, ignorant locals who should have been ejected early on in the evening, but instead were allowed to remain in the bar area while our party were requested to stay downstairs to avoid trouble kicking off. What a way to run a hospitality business! If the landlord/lady is happy to take hundreds of pounds from their (non local) customers, they should at least have the courtesy to ensure that they feel welcomed, not coral them in the cellar bar because they can’t control a couple of Neanderthals in the bar. Sorry to the bar staff and the majority of locals who were clearly embarrassed by this behaviour, you shouldn’t have to put up with this either. I have awarded one star because no stars is not an available option. No welcome in the hillside...
