I was looking forward to getting some ice cream. I asked for 3 scoops and was told I could only have 2. I was expecting him to start laughing and say it was a joke but he didn't. I'm used to being able to dictate how much ice cream I want and to pay by the scoop. Or for there to be different prices for different sizes. Not here! If you ask for anything but 2 scoops you will be met with the cold hard stare of the proprietor and an unwillingness to budge. Surprising really as this is limiting how much of his produce he is selling. If he is missing out on a 1 scoop sale per person over a 12 month period I calculate he is losing out on a fortune in lost revenue and irking a great many tourists.

On a side note there is also a woodworking shop attached called Aber Originals. There is a sign offering wooden furniture and hand painted "desighns". If you misspell the sign advertising your signs it's a sign that...

We stopped on the way back to our car after a walk at Aber Falls. At the time the owner was working outside to enhance the exterior for summer. Inside there is relaxed atmosphere from the set up of tables and decor. The food is simple with panini's, ice creams or cakes as well as cold and hot drinks. One of our party had a latte which was good. Personally I had bara brith which was fresh and tasty. What was of note were the prices were very reasonable and with the excellent friendly service of the owner, definitely...

Yummy ice-cream stop after a 7 mile hike around the falls on a blustery sunny February day. Undergoing some renos but definitely stop in, there's a very warm welcome waiting for you! The owner (we think) gave us loads of tips for places to go on our holiday, thank YOU you made the next day, or last day of the week full of activities from cairns, mystical wells to Ty Côch! Very friendly fuzzy doggos too. Thanks again, blackcurrant ice-cream mango sorbet highly recommended! Thanks from...

Lovely cafe ideally placed to visit Aber Falls. We parked in free car park next to bus turnaround. Toilet in a tiny historical display about Aber Royal connections. Short walk to Caffi Alma. Coffee and ice cream before a 5-mile circular walk to the falls. Upon returning Coffee, cold drinks and a very fresh panini. Dog friendly and owner has two lovely little dogs and a great sense of humour.

Very no-nonsense lunch place, offering mainly sandwich type things (panini) then milkshakes and ice cream. Very friendly chap served us, giving us a some advice about walking around the nearby Aber Falls. Had a laugh about "Welsh" tea vs "Yorkshire" tea! Dog-friendly, in fact they had three little Westie-types of their own, lounging about and toddling across for an occasional belly rub.
