First time visit here. And my wife and I both had a wonderful evening. We had booked the previous week, but it wasn't necessary on this Saturday evening as there were one or two empty tables scattered around. Before we ordered food we had a few drinks. A nice selection of beers, wines and spirits were available. The menu is comprehensive with plenty to choose from. Prices are reasonable. When we eventually ordered, we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. It was very nicely presented, hot, tasty and the portion sizes were large. Other pubs take note! The staff were superb. Very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. The pub itself is nice. The large open fire would be wonderful on colder evenings! A huge garden and decking area looks out over the countryside. Very impressive. There is also a large carpark. Two minor points, first impressions are spoilt very slightly by letters missing off the pub name. It makes the pub look slightly uncared for and rough around the edges, which, once you enter the building you realise is far from the truth! And also the gents toilets could do with a bit of TLC. There was a huge hole in the wall that looks like somebody had been at it with a sledgehammer! Minor stuff I know, and it certainly doesn't detract from what was a lovely evening out. Visit Castell Y Bwch. You'll not be disappointed!

First time here under the new owners on Saturday. Were told there would be a 30 to 40 minute wait, which we accepted as we had not booked, so ordered some food and prepared for a wait. After about an hour I asked how much longer and was tools the ticket hadn't printed out in the kitchen so our order had not been started. It would be a further 15 to 20 minutes. As we were hungry we said OK. When the food arrived my Hunter's Chicken looked very nice, although served on a piece of slate with the chips (didn't look home made) in a little bucket and not really enough space to tip them out. I would prefer a more traditional plate. My wife's Carbonara however looked like a disaster area. Supposed to be in a creamy sauce with white wine, it was just floating in a sea of oil or grease and not a sign of any cheese and lacking in taste. We were offered a 15% discount, but as we had already missed the movie we had booked decided to leave. We left without eating and doubt we will ever go back. Ended up in a Brains pub, getting served a lovely meal for a lower price and much faster service. Sad because this used to be one of our favourite places before the Pandemic.

visit the place on Saturday as there is a nice area for kids to play outside, but it was next to the huge gas tank though, that made me a bit uncomfortable... The food was dry and overcoooked and did not enjoyed it at all as I was trying hard to chew my meal.. The stuff seemed like they did not wanted to be there. The worst part though was the ice cream that came after food as part of the kids meal. It had a weird aftertaste (honestly it was like olive paste) and tried a bit when my kids started complaining, that horrible taste stuck with me for the rest of the day! I can understand now why the place was empty on a Saturday afternoon. Thats a shame as I thought that things would be better after the pub changed ownership but it actually feels worse now

Having visited this establishment on the 15th August, I am disappointed, unfortunately my 17 year old son found plastic in is food, Firstly Beckie our server was great , She ended up taking the price of that meal off, but the fact still is there that could have been a young child and could have ended badly with a child choking! ,We was disappointed in regards to all the fly’s that where in the restaurant, We understand the place is in the country but this needs to be addressed, We ate dessert outside with no problems, After paying and leaving the next day we checked the receipt to find we where charged £8.10 for alcohol we never had, After ringing them twice and being told the manager would ring me, They didn’t!! I rang again and was told I can pick it up? I asked if they could just put back on the card but no an establishment like this can’t ?! really , I’m not going to drive the 16 miles round trip to pick it up, It would cost me more money to get it, So after ringing again ! They said they would drop it off, It’s been just under 2 weeks now and still to be dropped off, Never again and that is a shame this place looks like it’s gone down hill as the first time we visited 6 months before there were...
