My partner and I visited Cletwr earlier today for my birthday and were quite disappointed, which is a shame because it usually one of our favourite places to eat. The food, as usual, was delicious. However, my partner has a health condition which legally entitles him not to wear a mask in public places. We still social distance and are very polite to others. We have gone to other cafes/restaurants and he hasn't worn a mask and it has either not been questioned or if it has the owner or employee speaks to us in an adult manner and his exemption is accepted and understood happily. Nevertheless earlier we were aggressively shouted at, in front of other customers, that he was walking back from the toilets without a mask. Later when he left the cafe, all while keeping his distance from everyone, a cafe employee also yelled aggressively at him again. Then while I left the cafe, with my newborn daughter and all of her changing stuff, the employee yelled at me because of my partner. When I explained him having a health condition making him exempt, she continued to yell at me in front of other customers. I felt like, although we were obeying every government guideline we were made to feel like second class citizens. The employee here also needs to understand that not all disabilities and exemptions are visable and these individuals may not want to discuss their private health conditions with strangers. I doubt we will return anytime soon because of the maltreatment we experienced, which we are...

On Saturday 10th my grandfather came to this establishment and ordered a tea and a ham and cheese toastie. He came in, ordered from the bar and sat down on a table across from the bar. His pot of tea came very promptly.

He waited 20 minuets for his ham and cheese toastie and it was nowhere to be found. He said that around the bar and several tables were lots of staff just stood around gossiping. He went up to the bar to ask where his food was and was told that they apologise and would go and look for it, they then came back and told him they had no idea where his food was or where the order had gone but they assured him food would be out shortly.

He then waited another 25 minuets! STILL NO TOASTIE! In the end he went back up to the bar and told them to forget it the girl offered him a refund but he was too angry and upset to stay in the building any longer.

As a supervisor in hospitality and catering this is extreamly unacceptable and with lots of staff stood around he would have been catered to quickly and...

I never usually leave reviews but I went here for my partner's birthday breakfast as they advertised a full english vegan breakfast with vegan black pudding etc. Go up to order and told there is no vegan full english only pancakes or avo on toast. They clearly had vegan black pudding on the menu, baked beans, toast, mushroom, hash brown etc. So I asked if they could just make one up using just the vegan ingredients - the waiter checked with the chef who said no chance they can only do pancakes or avo on toast. This was frustrating as it was on the menu that they would do a full English vegan and we wouldn't have come here otherwise. I ordered the pancakes, but unfortunately they were terrible and looked like a kid had made them. 2 very very small out of shape pancakes with a few slices of apple on the side and a dollop of yoghurt for nearly £6. Poor advertisement of vegan food and not very accommodating (not in my experience anyway). Shame because I'd only heard good things...

An amazing little community hub! We were staying nearby for a week and I was on the lookout for a decent coffee… This place did not disappoint! Very clean, well equipped place with super friendly staff. Lovely coffee, cakes and breakfast. Lots of items in the shop too. Our toddler especially loved the section for the kids - books, a role play kitchen, dinosaurs, etc. - meant that mam and dad could enjoy their coffee whilst it was still warm! Highly recommend this place! Hope to visit again in the future 🙂

Nice place - very modern building, comprising a cafe and a small shop. Lots of Welsh products and also lots of eco-friendly products in the shop. Cafe is bright and airy, with clean toilets. Excellent food and drinks. We had the Welsh Rarebit (2 slices) a couple of coffees (an Americano and a Cappuccino), and a slice of Bara Brith and a slice of Victoria sponge - all were tasty, although the Rarebit wasn't particularly cheesy. We would visit again, given the chance.

We have gone to Cletwr for the last three years. Great food, great coffee and lovely friendly staff. Last time we went the bloke went out of his way to make sure our dog had water. He was so kind to us. Comfortable inside and out. Very accessible an easy to park. Facilities great an clean. Shop brilliant and full of local produce from Wales. Sells plants to. We love it here.
