Read mixed reviews before visiting but was local to where we were staying so thought we would try it out. Good location with lovely views and lots of cat ornaments all round the windows. Arrived mid afternoon, restaurant was empty. No welcome apart from "you can sit where you like". Waitress hovered while we looked at the menu. Ordered spaghetti Bolognese which was average - asked if any parmesan and a small bowl with a few slithers was provided. Also cheese and onion quiche, chips and salad. Quiche was ok, chips good, best part was the salad which included lots of fruit. Waited quite a while for waitress to reappear and take our dessert order - butterscotch pancakes with ice cream and rhubarb and almond crumble with custard. Pancakes were good. Crumble was average. As said earlier, this is in a good location, with lovely views and plenty of parking. Restaurant and toilet all very clean. Food ok. Sadly lacking on the customer service side. A pleasant welcome can make all...

Not my first visit here, but first here with my wife. Situated in a very picturesque location, surrounded by fields, hills, and mountains, Country Cooks offers a warm welcome, friendly staff, and a spotless restaurant. There are tables, and chairs a plenty inside, and a seating area outside. Although, on this visit, the only dining to be had outside, it was a whole TWO degrees, was on the bird feeders! A huge variety of birds tucking in, out there, including a woodpecker! I wouldn't say that the menu was huge, (not on the bird feeders), but there was an adequate choice to be had. I think the proprietors may have a thing for cats, and if you feel as though there are hundreds of eyes staring at you, that may be, because of the hundreds, probably, of cat ornaments, that are on every shelf, window, etc inside. There is a good sized car park outside, and steps, and for those less abled types, a ramp, for wheelchairs. Access for...

Lovely café with friendly staff. Food cooked fresh & served nice & hot. The salad is good & unusually served with fruit in it, which we like. I would like to see more vegetarian/vegan dishes on the menu (hence 4*'s not 5) that said we did find something we liked. I had the vegetarian burger served with chips and garnish, which I enjoyed & my husband had the vegetarian lasagna served with chips and salad. All very good. Would definitely recommend. The café has numerous cat ornaments & teapots around the window sills and on selves around the walls, plenty to look at and while waiting for your meals, also a lovely view from the windows. Returned here today, 17/06/23 on our way to Anglesey and couldn't fault the service or the food. Decided to stick with the veggie lasagna, chips and salad like previous visits. We weren't disappointed! Would definitely...

Nice atmosphere, good service but the branding makes you think it'll be American diner style and it was actually just sub standard British fare in a bizarrely cat themed dining area. We went for the most American looking thing on the menu which was pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, but the pancakes were Very bland and not American style or English and the 'maple syrup' was actually golden syrup... plus my Latté was just coffee with a few bubbles on top. In the end it was ok and the staff made it enjoyable enough but it wasn't the kind of stand out food or atmosphere that'll have me coming back.
