We stayed for 2 nights this weekend to climb snowdon ranger path with a group of about 25 of us ladies from ‘The Outdoirsy Woman’ group (check us on facebook 🙂) the start of the path was just down the road.. The room was super clean and nice with little quality extras like the decent loo roll 😆 the soaps etc, the coffee machine with pods for coffee and hot chocolate.. the pillows were the best I’ve slept on so I had to google and buy one haha. The beds were very comfortable and the room was so clean and the views 😍.. the only thing i could pick on was when the beds were made up as singles instead of king, they may have used kids single duvets and they were too short so our feet hung out of it. I didn’t ask for another as we just used a blanket to cover our feet but I’m sure they’d have helped as the staff were so accommodating and helpful. When we went up to our room the kitchen staff had loud music on as they didn’t know there were guests staying (rooms are above the kitchen) and we mentioned it and asked it to be turned down a bit and they turned it off I think, apologised and we didn’t hear it again the whole 2 days. I’ve wrote this just so anyone else knows it’s not the pub music and can be stopped if it disturbs. The room was so peaceful and the view from the window is stunning! The pub and restaurant with cosy fires also stunning! We walked down to the campsite and wow the lake is beautiful and so clear! We’ll be back to camp. The toilets and showers on the camp site were bang on the best and cleanest I’ve seen! Food was absolutely delicious too. The owner I think was called Graham? We chatted to him a lot and he was ever so helpful and kind. We loved our stay thank you. The...
Read moreNot your usual standard Very disappointed...we arrived at 2pm to people finishing up their lunch. Told by the manager that they stopped serving lunch now but the evening menu starts at 3.30 so we booked a table for then and left for a hour....
we came here in September 2020 and the quality of the food was amazing, lamb shank, belly pork, steaks.... we returned in july 2021 ( came out of our way just to eat here) rubbish, £13 for a pack of sliced ham that is clearly from the shop just warmed up, 2 eggs and chips....£13 burger with zero side salad and it was just dull....where has the quality gone :( very very disappointed. We wont be returning now as we have to come out of out way for this. Total pub lunch menu served for evening meal, bangers and mash, rissotto, ham egg and chips or burger....no steaks or fish or lamb, no option of belly pork anymore.
After seeing other people dining better with a different menu i spoke to the manager, she he told me the menu she gave me was the lunch menu as the kitchen staff where on break.... i said but we booked for an evening meal, she continued to say what do you want me to do ... i explained that when you have a kitchen break inbetween the day and evening menu and i book for the evening i expect an evening menu... i wasnt happy as we traveled a hour out of our way just for this pub and was disappointed ...again she said what do you want me to do. I replied your the manager. Take charge. Refund given on the ham egg and chips as it really was crap, very disappointed that we where treated like this. They really didn't seem bothered. Ive attached 2 menus so you can see...
Read moreAMAZING PLACE!!!|I’ve been camping by all over UK, Scotland, Wales, other countries… this campsite is one of my favourites! Beautiful natural site, next to and with access to a lake, at the base of Snowden Mountain (great if you’d like to hike, one of the most stunning mountains in UK). The campsite also has its own trails, including many others near by. There’s a local pub about 15ish minutes walk (where you sign in) with friendly staff and good food & drinks. And an amazing little town about 10 minutes drive from the campsite. |Campsite has nice new facilities on site, including an inclusive a heavy duty buggy to transfer your camping equipment from the vehicle to your chosen location, fire-pits all over for BBQ/Fire adding to the experience of camping. |Unlike other campsites I’ve been to, this site is very unique, it is part of natural preservation of wild life. So you won’t be bothered by someone’s loud music, it’s not allowed, which is a great way to truly enjoy nature, peaceful day, peaceful sleep and wake up to the amazing birds signing in the morning. |And you are not stuck in a row-by-row tend next to tend like other sites. This site offers a pick your location as you arrive with so many different locations; near the lake, grassy fields, enclosed by trees, private patch by the edge…so many choices. |I’ve been to this site a number of times, and with each visit the site only gets better. |Don’t miss out on this beautiful campsite amongst one of the most beautiful...
