The Perfect Pub Stop in Rural Wales

On a recent trip through the beautiful Welsh countryside, we stumbled upon a gem of a pub tucked away in a rural location that felt like stepping back in time. This historic pub, which dates back centuries (and might even be haunted), offered an unforgettable experience.

We parked our campervan in their car park for the night, making it a convenient and welcoming stop. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier, going out of their way to ensure we felt at home. They even took the time to share stories about the pub’s fascinating history, which added an extra layer of charm to the visit.

The menu was impressive, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes, including a fantastic selection of vegetarian options. Every plate was cooked to perfection—great portions, fresh ingredients, and flavours. The prices were more than reasonable for the quality of the food, making it excellent value for money.

The ambience inside was warm and inviting, with a cosy atmosphere that hinted at the building's storied past. Whether or not the ghostly rumours are true, there’s certainly something magical about this place.

The combination of great food, friendly service, and its idyllic location means we’ll definitely be returning. If you’re passing through rural Wales, this pub is a must-visit. Just make sure to ask the staff about its history—you won’t regret it!

As many other people have mentioned, its the genuine friendliness and warmth of the staff that make the Druid Inn, such a wonderful pub, not only to stay at, but also to eat and drink there too.||||Its not the Ritz, but a lovely old pub, that comes with all the " warts " of an old building.||||The staff are fantastic and no matter how busy it gets, they seem to have time for everyone.||||I stayed as a solo traveller, prior to a hill race on the nearby Moel Famau, staying in the single room.||||The room, was just what I wanted, comfy, quiet and had everything I needed for a one night stay.||||Ive been before, so I know how quickly it fills up with diners, so Id booked a table well in advance.||||I had fish and chips, which was very good, washed down with a very well kept pint of Madog Ale, from the wonderful Purple Moose Brewery.||||Unlike a lot of places, the Druid Inn, the breakfasts at the weekend, start early - 7.30 am, so I was able to have a really nice light breakfast prior to my race, cooked by a very friendly and cheerful lady, who was also doing the cleaning too !!!||||I wouldnt hesitate to go back and if the Druid Inn, was anywhere near to where I live, Id be in there all the time !||||10/10 Keep up the good work.||||Ps - top tip : Always book your table in advance, as it gets very busy at lunch /...

We were staying in the area over the weekend and had been for a long walk with our dog, we popped in on the off chance we might be able to get something to eat and a pint, the staff were so friendly and offered us a table in the bar despite being busy with Christmas parties/meals. The food was absolutely delish, we both had the suet steak pudding, the presentation was lovely, lots of meat in the pies and reasonably priced, my husband had the chocolate fudge pudding for afters and it was beautiful! Staff kept our dog supplied in gravy bones and a drink for her too. All in all a very enjoyable evening and made to feel welcome straight away, Thank you!

We where driving home from a short stay in Llanbedr and fancied a Sunday Roast. We saw the signs for this pub and drove in looking for a great Roast. Well we weren't dissapointed. We where welcomed at the bar. We could see they where busy and most tables where reserved. We asked for a table for 2, the staff member found us a table thankfully. We grabbed a couple of drinks and where quickly seated. The menu was varied but I had to choose the 3 meat mixed roast dinner. I wasn't disappointed. The meats where cooked great, roasties, vegetables, big Yorkshire pudding. Brilliant. Couldn't fault it. When we pass again I'm sure we will call in. 👌👍
