EDDY’S RESTAURANT | Dog Friendly, Great Coffee, Surfer Decor, food made with love 🏄🏻‍♀️

As my parents now live on the Gower, it is my mission to find as many places to eat down here as I can; more so, dog friendly.

Yes, Eddy’s has been on everyone’s radars for a while, but there were some varied reviews here so I wanted to check it out for myself and give a more up to date opinion!

I always bloody love a surfer beach cafe and Eddy’s did it so well 🏄 The decor is gorgeous filled with surfboards, maps of the Gower and local seaside art. Eddy’s was also super super clean! The toilets are immaculate and the floors spotless despite dogs and walkers coming through with sandy shoes. Not a spec!

✨ Staff were all bloody lush, super dog friendly (the cafe’s in house pooch even had his own house in the cafe!) and the food was really REALLY good.

We had a fry up and the sausages were local to Gower, and came with corn fritters and potato rostis- bloody love that! I don’t usually rave over sandwiches, but my Beef, horseradish and pickles toasted ciabatta was phenomenal!! Also, the harrisa, lemon and garlic chips were stars of the show! Coffee is from a local producer and made with care; great latte art and they clearly know what they’re doing!

Right on the dunes, warm and cosy on a blustery Welsh wet day, going to be bloody gorgeous on a sunny one too! ☀️ Perfect for walkers, beach goers or those who want a pint with sea views in the evening!

This is my place for the summer, get the wax out...

Eddy’s smashed it. My first time here, I enjoyed lunch after a long walk along the beach. The entire menu looked fab but the Korean chicken spiced salad bowl immediately took my fancy. £15 for lunch, I thought might be a bit pricey at first, but when it arrived I think it was exceptional value for money. It was delicious. Portion was huge and everything about it was spot on. It had tonnes of freshness from the herbs, seasoning, the pickled cucumber and red cabbage (my favourite bit). Loads of warming heat, not overpowering, but a gentle, warming hum across my whole mouth. The chicken (lots of it) was moist, very well cooked and seasoned. The kimchee salad was lush, sweet, sour, full of zing. Loads of edamame beans and rice to fill you up. Overall, an excellent plate of food - well done Eddy’s chef! And the staff were all pleasant, attentive and helpful. Service was excellent too. And they were only too happy to let my dog inside too. Well done Eddy’s. I’ll definitely be...

Disappointed after expecting so much from some of the reviews. Dirty tables outside with no one clearing them. Almost 50minutes to get food, satay chicken bowl was ok, children’s meals poor - one sausage and worst, “chicken goujons” on the menu, turn up as cheap nasty formed chicken nuggets THESE ARE NOT GOUJONS!!!! Goujons are real chicken, not mashed up chicken skin and rubbish. Very disappointed and as far as I’m concerned a deliberately misleading menu item. No one asked how the meal was so I couldn’t complain and there were so few staff on a busy we weren’t going to wait another 45 min to complain. If you like good quality food and good service with clean tables, go elsewhere. The location is great, pretty much the...

Surfing-themed restaurant on the Gower. Part of Hillend campsite facilities, Eddy's is a surfing themed restaurant with a summer lodge feel. Spacious and surrounded by windows on two sides, the restaurant enjoys airy views of the campsite and distant sand dunes. We had pints of tap lager and cider one evening and the full English breakfast the next morning. The breakfast itself was delicious (picture below) and the coffee above average. The menu is not particularly diverse or fancy but for a campsite restaurant, Eddy's is a very convenient and acceptable place to eat and drink. I have reviewed the campsite elsewhere, and have nothing but high praise for this remarkably well-organised establishment.
