Ffostrasol Arms — Restaurant in Wales

Family pub in the heart of Ffostrasol. Super friendly staff, very helpful & knowledgable waiters/service staff. Interesting paintings by local artists help to enhance the charm of the interior. Soft drinks available fresh from the can - bonus! Various alcohol on tap & in the fridges. The food here is very good & everybody enjoyed their meals. To accompany main meals there is a choice between rice, chips, mash or potatoes - There's also a 50/50 option for carb sides & then option of seasonal vegetables or salad. All of the accompanying food came in separate dishes. The meals were very fresh, tasteful & were a good price considering the size of the plate. This is quite a large pub with ample seating & parking spaces. There are a few disabled spaces outside & easy wheelchair access. Staff were unwelcoming, unfriendly, i asked if we could order our food in the bar area, we were told no, to go sit down and someone would take our order, despite the landlord standing right in front of us. 30mins later they took our food order, we were pretty hungry and fed up as we could see the bar staff the whole time doddling about at the bar😅 I didn't end up waiting for the food, the landlord had a go at me and they clearly did not want to serve us. This is the third time we've been there and the staff have treated us with side eyes and smirks and pure hostility. With a 1 🌟 hygiene rate, you would think they would try a bit harder .... Time to retire and let someone who wants customers run the place.

Yesterday evening we had a meal here and the food was fantastically cooked. I had the lasagne and without a word if a lie, I have to say that it's the best lasagne that I have had in and pub or restaurant and I have had a fair few. To whoever made and cooked it, full marks 👌🏻, it was lovely as was the whole meal. The surroundings were lovely and the lady who served us was also lovely and made us feel very welcome. We drove from Llanbydder to try the Ffostrasol Arms out for the first time and we will definitely be returning in the future. I know this is only a side note, but the toilets were spotless.
