GreenMeadow Golf and Country Club — Restaurant in Wales

We have for 4 years come here for Christmas lunch its our special day my 90 year old mother her 84 year old friend and 74 year old 67 year old sister and me 63 we have always had a beautiful meal and the servers so lovely and friendly this year. The roast dinner was awful none of us finished it . Politely making it known to the servers thier reply was no one else have complained i asked to speak to the manager who excused her self by saying she was in a meeting my niece had her wedding there so my sister recognised the manager in the lounge not 15 mins later so we asked could we speak to her we were told she was not available even though she was in the same lounge as we were sat drinking our cup of tea. We were ignored by 2 servers who found it acceptable to gossip in the passage way but walked away when we approached i will never book another meal there again i did tell the gentleman server who may i say was very polite and very helpful that I have every right to complain when the food I was about to pay for £27 was so bad none of us could eat it we were informed to send a E Mail to the said manager to complain . Absolutely unprofessional and perhaps these people are forgetting its us customers who pay thier wages and politeness and good service is paramount to at the very least food that can be enjoyed last time to visit here we made the best of the afternoon that was ruined. The reason for my visit was a wake to say goodbye to our longest serving chorister, who sadly passed away and was cremated on the day of my visit. The club is a regular place to visit, being next to the crematorium. The main building appears to cater for most things. It has several areas/rooms to be able to cater for several small parties at the time. That appeared to be the case last Wednesday. A shortage of cròckery etc kept guests waiting! This, however, was very unusual. Normally, the service is extremely good! I think there may have been more than just our party in the club causing the holdup! This, for me, was a one-off and shouldn't be taken as the norm! The food and drink side of things is a credit to the head chef and his staff. As was in a party of over 60 guests for food I'm aware that most places would not be able to cater for this, the food came out at a good pace to each person correctly as ordered as far as I am aware. As everyone had ordered different and there were so many of us we were made aware before hand at the time of booking that it would be impossible for all the food to come out at the same time having saying that it came out at a good pace and as it was for a surprise 18th birthday meal it was as much as a social gathering and a mingle as much as a meal so with a room just for us it was perfect. Myslef personally i had the double cheese burger and I have to say it was one of the nicest burgers I've had In a long time for the price as well was well worth it.
