Greggs 'The Halt' - Named after the old railway station. We often call in to this place for a bite to eat. Always clean and tidy, lovely tea, or cappuccino if you fancy a good coffee. Wonderful pizza slices, pepperoni or just a plain cheese & tomato - you wont be disappointed. Disgustingly gorgeous pastries; I love the Belgian buns with a big fat cherry sitting in the icing, but there are lots of other sorts of cakes too. Savoury, and meat slices packed scrummily full.    Read moreWe only stopped off for a bacon roll and coffee. 10:40 we got in the queue to the one person serving, by the time we got to the front of the queue the other person (who was more interested in making pizzas than serving customers) finally came to the counter and took our order. He said they had finished doing the breakfast rolls. I suggested they could have put a notice up saying that they'd not got any bacon/sausage etc at the entrance rather than having to tell customers when they finally got to order. Excellent staff, cheerful and helpfull and proud of their produce. Fair price, clean eating area. Every town should have one.
