Hafodyrynys Inn — Restaurant in Wales

Hugely disappointing evening. Arrived in the afternoon to set up back.room for my son in laws 30th birthday bash. Added loads of decorations including balloons, banners, bunting and confetti on the tables. Well impressed with the look of room after it was done. Arrived just after 7 to be greeted with tables moved and one large table missing and no confetti!!! When I asked the reason behind it I was abruptly informed 'that it was needed'. Utter shambles!! All confetti was removed as it gets onto glasses then clogs the dishwasher....really!! No customer service, in dire need of refurbishment and bit of a shambles with food order. Bit of variety ordered but food brought out in dribs and drabs....main meal but waiting for chips, this didnt make any sense as meal going cold waiting for chips! And the pinicle of my night was my SWEET Steak and ale pie which was full of gravy with 2 measly pieces of steak. Total piss take. Glad to leave that night and will...

It took me a while to find The Hafodyrynys Inn after trying all the pub food eateries in this area. As a result, I have had lunch every Sunday for the past two years and now I have lunch at least once during the week. The battered fish'n'chips and home made steak and ale pie are fabulous and I intend to work my way through the rest of the menu including the corned beef pie and gravy, the portions are usually too big for me and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Colin and Tom also provide a take away service which I have also taken advantage of. Keep up...

Pleasent environment, lovely open real fire. Friendly, accomodating staff. The food was really nice,cooked well. Overall a good experience, will certainly go again for a typical pub menu. A lovely evening out.

Yet again a lovely few hours with nice food, although prices have gone up, still average cost for some menu choices.
