Decided on a breakfast here for the first time, on a Saturday morning. Usually, a Harvester is a great treat and something different and special. Well.. before I continue, I shall give the positives. The waitress that served us was absolutely great in every way.. didn't get her name sadly. The food tasted great and plates were left empty (though I did notice quite a few other people around us leaving food.. why?.. I don't know!). Sadly, there is where the positives end. While the food tasted great and was all eaten, it was not strictly HOT and some would have sent it back. We were placed next to a window and there was a draught cooling us and the food down. Kept the best 'til last.. for an establishment that is solely there to serve food and drink for human consumption, the place is in a very poor state of mess with dirtiness and disrepair all around. Photos are included that intend to show the following... On the outside - broken and uneven pavements on the approach causing potential for trip hazard, woodwork on buildings in a state of rot due to deteriorated and flaking paintwork through poor maintenance, general appearance of grubbinness. On the inside, some tables had poorly maintained surfaces that were in need of maintenance that would give rise to breeding grounds for bacteria, most of the cloth-covered chairs were dirty, with grubbinness on the backs where they'd been repeatedly handled and not cleaned while one chair had parts of the surface coating that had been peeling off for some time, more breeding ground for bacteria. I ventured to check the toilets on the upper floor and found door after door with dirtiness on both sides including the door to access the baby changing room for goodness sake. There was general dirt and grubbinness on almost all of the walls leading through to the toilets. Climbing the carpeted stairs to the first floor, one sticks to the carpet due to years of ingrained filth. Inside the toilet room itself was cleaner than the doors, corridors and stairs to reach it, but the walls in there were in need of cleaning and a refresh of paint. Sadly, THIS Harvester is one eating establishment that I cannot recommend at the moment since I feel it is a breeding ground for disease in its current state.

We walked in and were greeted in a friendly manner, we barely had enough time to get a drink from the bar before our table was made ready (we were a little early!) and, as I had booked online, all my requests were met. We both had a starter and main (see pics) I have a gluten allergy and was recommended to try the Glass Onion App but that staff would be more than happy to double check anything if I asked. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious! My husband had the Rocky Horror dessert and said it was also delicious! Service was quick and any queries we had were met with helpful responses. Cerys, our server, was lovely and added that extra touch of sparkle to our experience. We had a lovely 20th wedding anniversary meal here and will definitely be returning next time we are visiting our daughter!

Went for Sat AM breakfast. Seated quickly and servers were friendly. Not much choice in the continental breakfast section, just cereal, pastries and yogurt. Juices either running low or empty. Toaster out of action. Had to ask about getting toast. Was brought to our table promptly, but assume it had been made in advance and kept under a hot lamp as it snapped and turned to crumbs when trying to add butter. Main breakfast was brought out within 10 mins of ordering. Was decent and very filling, although we had to find our own cutlery to eat it. At £9.99 including unlimited drinks, it was ok value but a bit more attention to detail from staff would have taken it up a notch.

Won't be going here again. The guy behind the bar has a serious attitude problem ,he looks like he doesn't want to be there and this is from weekly observations and confirmed by a friend who goes with me. And this is not a problem for anyone else there.

Today, I went with a friend to this place as we usually do on a Tuesday. They have an £8 chicken Tuesday deal which is very decent bar dealing with this person.

My friend had a free meal owning to him as he had saved up enough stars on the app.

I wanted the chicken kebab with an extra one for £5. I have it every week, its £13.

My friend ordered a chicken kebab too (single), added loaded fries for an extra £1.49 and a basic cordial and soda water. HE HAD A FREE MEAL VOUCHER ON HIS HARVESTER APP after 5 previous visits which he unlocked.

It came to £24 which is MORE than we pay normally WITHOUT the free meal, we queried it and insisted it was right, but it was not.

I got my friend to pay and order with his phone as I left my card in the car and I paid him cash after.

Basically, the guy behind the till did NOTHING to help us, he knew well he could have told us the chicken Tuesday deal was not being included and I would have just ordered myself and saved us over £6, paid cash and ordered on my app, I thought I was doing HIM a favor by making it all easier for him to process. it was beyond my comprehension he would do that.

Instead, he put it through and basically robbed my friend of his free meal. He could have easily told him at the time of ordering. He knew what he was doing and it left a very sour taste.

That meal combined today should have cost.

£13 for mine. (£8 + £5 upgrade for extra skewer) £1.49 for the loaded fries upgrade. £3 or so for the cordial drink.

Instead if came to £24 ish because the selfish sod couldn't be bothered to point this out. When even I knew it.

So instead of going there every week and spending over a thousand a year, we'll go elsewhere.

Secondly, the place has gown downhill too since the old manager left, the onions, peppers in the salad bar looked like they were diced by a child, often they are overly thick.

Today my kebab only had 3 pieces of chicken on it instead of 4, how this could be missed is beyond anyone as there was a massive gap and there were 4 bits on the other one.

Week before I had to ask where my order is, he came out with it straight away and it was luke warm and dry, so had obviously been sitting there for ages and no doubt would have been cold had I not said anything.

Normally its not a problem, but we ate the meal knowing we got screwed over and would not be back.

in all honesty, I have had a good experience with everyone else, but every week I dreaded having to interact with this guy and this was the excuse I needed not to go anymore. Management need to sort it out.

If you go, order from the restaurant section so you don't have the interact with him, the women there are great. But avoid the unhappy, unhelpful guy at the bar. Everything is too much bother for him and he's costing you customers.

We ate today unhappy that we had been screwed over because he couldn't be bothered. We dealt with him every week and I was next to my friend at the bar. He could and should have looked out for us and he didn't. So that's that.

P.S. Last week, we also had a dog barking inside for our entire meal too, I love dogs to bits but it must have barked over 100 times, management said nothing.

So sadly, two consecutive bad...

In the hallowed halls of Harvester, where the clinking of glasses and the hum of lively conversation fill the air, one server stood out—Liv, whose name would soon be spoken with reverence by all who witnessed her legendary service. On this fateful evening, we were but weary travelers, seeking a simple meal. Little did we know that Liv was about to turn our night into an unforgettable saga of warmth, dedication, and impeccable service.

From the moment Liv approached our table, her presence was like that of a trusted guide leading us through an enchanted forest of flavors. Her smile—warm and genuine—immediately set us at ease. She spoke of the menu with the expertise of a scholar and the passion of an artist. Each dish was described in a way that ignited our imaginations, as though the food itself held stories waiting to be told.

But Liv's true greatness lay not just in her knowledge, but in the way she anticipated our every need. Like a watchful sentinel, she hovered nearby, never too close, yet always ready. Our glasses were never empty, and every question or request was met with swift action and a kind word. She moved through the dining room with the grace of a dancer, ensuring that our experience remained flawless at every turn.

Then came the challenge—a moment that could test even the most seasoned of servers. A dish arrived, not quite as we had envisioned. But before we could even voice our concern, Liv had already sensed it. With a confident smile and swift assurance, she whisked the plate away, returning moments later with perfection. It was as if she wielded some magical power, effortlessly transforming obstacles into opportunities for excellence.

As the night wore on, it became clear that Liv was no ordinary server. She was a true heroine, going above and beyond, ensuring that our every need was met with kindness and care. Her service was more than just professional—it was personal, heartfelt, and unforgettable. We were not just guests; we were her honored charges, and she saw to it that our evening at Harvester was nothing short of legendary.

When the meal came to an end, we knew we had witnessed something special. Liv had turned a simple dinner into an epic experience, one that we would carry with us long after we left. To Liv, the heroine of Harvester, we offer our deepest thanks. Your name will be spoken in admiration by all who seek exceptional service, and your tale will be told for...
