Should have cooked at home! Booked a table at the longhouse yesterday for Sunday lunch, having never eaten there before. Won’t be making that mistake again. We were shown to our table outside the rear of the premises, obviously due to the covid-19 and current restrictions. The choice of meats were turkey and beef, with my other half and I choosing the beef. Our teenage son didn’t fancy dinner and ordered fish and chips, only to be told there would be an hour wait while they prepared more batter. He then ordered a ham baguette and a bowl of chips. The area we were sat in looked a little worn out and shabby, which didn’t give a good impression. Many pubs / restaurants have been using lockdown to paint and decorate, ready to welcome tourists. After around 30 minutes of waiting for food we asked where our food was and was advised it wouldn’t be long. After around 45 minutes, we again asked where our food was, and again was advised it would be with us soon. I wasn’t impressed and wanted to leave, but the other two in my party were hungry and were keen to eat. We were offered a complimentary drink for the excessive wait for the food, which was taken up by one of our party. Once the food arrived, it soon became apparent it wasn’t worth the wait. I’m fairly easily pleased and enjoy my food, but this was the exception. The roast potatoes were hard, with the broccoli and cauliflower being a struggle to cut. The cutlery we were given was more suitable to small children rather than adults, my other half even found the fork bending when dealing with the vegetables. A large majority of the beef was left on my plate when I had finished, as it was full of fat and inedible. The baguette that was served for my son was also less than impressive, with the bread tasting like it was on the turn! On paying for the meal, did I complain? Regrettably not, but in all reality, it is nice to be asked how everything was, and whether you were happy with everything? This would have been my opportunity to make my feelings known. Not quite sure where all the 5 stars are coming from, were they having an off day? The whole experience was rather poor and we certainly won’t be visiting anytime soon!

What a lovely team and lovely chilled out atmosphere!!! My grandparents have a huge white Maremma dog called Chance so we are limited to the places we can go with him. The staff here welcomed us to sit in the back and Chance was given a few free biscuits. They took our order at the table and were very dog friendly!! We had the soup of the day with cheese toastie (nan loved this), sides of both cheesy and cheeseless chips (lovely big portions and big chunky chips), tots for grandad who has a huge appetite and was full again said was delicious. Mum and I had the pulled pork which was filling and delicious 😋 We all wanted cake but we were too full... cappuccino was lovely and my hot chocolate was so chocolatley. The staff here could not do enough for you and the food was delicious. Definitely worth a visit or two. It is right next to the beach which is helpful as there aren't any shops or cafes there.

Nice bar and restaurant just a stones throw from the beach serving some great local and premium draft beers. Food excellent, arcade for the kids, plenty of outdoor seating. Gets very busy, we visited for food on a Thursday night but unfortunately no availability and suggest to book in advance. Service was a little chaotic, we booked a table for 7pm the following night (Friday). On arrival (18:55), we were told there’s a backlog and to come back and order at 19:15. Five minutes later we were approached at our table and told that we’d better hurry and order due to the kitchens closing at 19:30 - mixed messages. The original person we’d dealt with then apologised for the confusion, no harm done. Overall definitely worth a visit and very handy if you’re staying in the proximity.

All in all it was a bit of a disaster! We walked down on Monday (google said it was open, but it wasn’t), returned tonight. Front door difficult to open (wooden+probably swollen from the wet Welsh rain), walked in, not greeted by the staff at all. Ordered a drink and asked for some menus, asked if we had booked (we hadn’t), asked what time we wanted to order (needed to be written in the diary as the kitchen ‘won’t be able to cope’, written in for 1730, wanted to sit outside (had a toddler), bit of attitude from the staff saying if we wanted to sit outside we needed to pay when we ordered (not an issue) but could have phrased it slightly better (I suspect they had had problems with folk leaving without paying if sat outside..).

We sat outside in a terrace area so our kid could run around and not run into the carpark etc, looked at the menus, wanted to go back in and order - but we were locked on the terrace! Spent a good 5 minutes knocking on the glass to try and attract someone’s attention to open the door, another customer oozed through a gap to go round the front to let us in…. Mentioned to restaurant staff we were locked out to be told told ‘it’s a fire door’ and it needs to be shut… Not sure how you can have a terrace off of a fire door??

Given we were locked out, we decided to sit inside. Asked for a highchair ‘up to 36 months’ but did not fit our 20 month old… kid got pretty distressed so I took him back outside, meanwhile the restaurant staff came back to say what I wanted to order ‘slow cooked beef chilli’ wouldn’t be ready for another hour.

Food arrived, toddler wouldn’t entertain his meal (doesn’t mean it was inedible!) my burger was dry and came in 6 broken bits, and my chips were under cooked. Also ordered some cheesy garlic bread which was tasteless and not eaten…

Made a speedy exit (after paying!) as my toddler was playing up, only to go to the toilet and both ladies loos had no loo roll. Mentioned it to the staff, no apology…

From the outside the building looks like it has a nice après beach vibe… Such a shame as it has huge potential - but it was all round...

Decided to try this restaurant and booked a table for 8 people We were asked to pre book our food so as to not be kept waiting We arrived and were shown to our table and then left for 25 mins where a waiter came and said they couldn’t find our pre ordered food list and could we order again now which seemed to defeat the object and at this point we were assured there would not be any delay We were then left for another 10 mins before I had to ask someone if we could actually order some drinks We had 4 children in our party who were very hungry and getting restless Eventually the food and drinks finally arrived after been told some of the food was not unavailable and they had no lime for the drinks We then waited another 20 mins to order deserts to which we were told we only had 20 mins left before they wanted the table back We had been sat at the table since 5.10 and it was now 7:10 2 hours later but not through any fault of ours it was the slowness and incompetence that had taken the time The waiter then came back 10 mins later as they had not got one of the deserts so we had to order something different 5 mins later the waiter came back and said they had now found one We then had to ask for spoons for our desserts and the waiters answer was “oh crap” in front of my young children

A really bad experience and one I will not...
