My wife and I had a meal here on 10th July 2024 and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were cheerful and welcoming, attentive without being intrusive and a credit to themselves and the business. The service was prompt and efficient and the surroundings were modern and comfortable. The food was exceptional, from the starters to the desserts, via main courses which I highly recommend, it was colourful, flavourful and well presented. My wife had the Stuffed Mushrooms, which she said were the best she's ever had and I tried the Pork Belly which was served in a honey sauce... I'd still be there eating this as I didn't want the experience to end, it was magnificent. We both had the Linguine Vongole which was prawns, queen scallops, clam meat served garnished with clam shells in a tomato based sauce, it was fantastic. We finished up with the chocolate pudding, my wife having it with cream and ice cream while I had it with just custard (some of us know our limits, dear) and it did not disappoint. We both had drinks, my wife choosing a glass of Pieno Sud white wine while I had lemonade and lime. Overall the meal which cost a total of £75.20 was excellent value and if we were not returning to Scotland soon we would make dining at La Calabria a regular experience. Thank you to all the staff for making our evening such a pleasant experience and we heartily recommend this gem to all who find...

A hopeful start when we reserved a table via email. Tony was quick to respond and confirm our booking. We were really looking forward to enjoying our last evening in the area, eating somewhere local. We were a few minutes late (the restaurant is quite hidden but the signs nearby were helpful) however, we felt this didn't justify the unfriendly welcome we received.

Ordering drinks and food was quick. The starter came out promptly. We had the Pork Belly Slices and Garlic King Prawns. Sadly, there was far too much fat (even for pork belly), which was disappointing but the sauce that accompanied it was nice. The prawns were good.

Unfortunately, nobody checked on us during our starter nor were we asked if we wanted anymore drinks. The mains came out shortly afterwards, portion sizes were good. We went for the Pollo alla Panna and Linguine Salmone. Both dishes were very tasty. Whilst it's expected that the plates come out warm, these were exceptionally hot, with no warning given. Again, during our mains, no one asked how the food was or if we wanted anymore drinks. Even asking for a spoon for the linguine felt uncomfortable due to the lack of warmth from those serving us.

Overall, really disappointing, as the chef provided two delicious mains but the experience was completely let down by...

I booked a table reservation for 4 adults for a Saturday evening. This is not a resturant in the middle of a town/village, but rural and quite easy to find. There is a carpark available, although on our arrival the carpark was (almost) full, save one spot, which we manage to get. We checked in at the entrance and then we were shown to a table. The resturant was packed and quite noisy, which is good to see. A server took our drinks order. The drinks arrived and our meal order was taken. While waiting for our main meal, which was a little long, the server approach our table and asked if we would like to order deserts? I said that we were still waiting on our main course. The food was well presented and tasted delicious and, plentiful. Later we had desert and 3 of us ordered the tiramasu and it was very tasty, too. We had one or two small issues with service, i.e. wrong cutlery for the main and having to wait sometime for it to be replaced. Having to wait to reorder drinks and being asked twice for our desert orde; once being before the main was delivered. Maybe, the young servers need more training. However, they were friendly and polite. Overall we had a good evening and...

West Wales is a barren wasteland when it comes to reasonably priced quality restaurants and I hoped this was going to buck the trend, alas no. Nice location and nice interior, very Italian but sadly the food didn't match. Both had goats cheese, cheese was tasteless and could have done with more cooking. I had calves liver for my main......what's the ONE thing you should never do with liver? Yup, over cook it! It was badly overcooked and superwhat rubbery and tasteless as a result. The 'garlic infused roast potatoes' had no sign of rosemary and tasted deep fried not roasted, tasted like giant chips! Friend had saltimbocca, stuffed steak, wasnt stuffed with anything and the meat was very gristly and amazingly tasteless for a sirloin. We have some of the best meat in the world in West Wales, tasteless steaks shouldn't be on the menu! To finish the tiramisu was nice and my cup of tea nice and steaming hot. Unlikely to return sorry

Turned up at venue initially unsure it was correct place. A nice signpost by the entrance to car park would be a good idea. Were first in at 6pm. Shown to our table by the chef/owner. Waiter came and took drink order. I do wish they would lose the mask though as it makes hearing harder for me. Had a nice lager and went for olives and bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Tasty warm bread. Then had a quality main meal of Pork steak. Loved the italian music in background including the theme to the Godfather. Great location with lovely photos on wall of Calabria. Nice atmosphere good company and service as expected although could have been more warm which i think is due to that sodding mask. Will definitely return.

Beautiful quaint little Italian restaurant nestled in lovely west Wales. The dining room seats around 60-75 so it allows for a nice cozy dining experience. My wife had the ham and pineapple pizza and absolutely loved it and I had the lasagna and was very pleased as well. They do offer both gluten free as well as vegetarian options. As for desert, it is exceptional! The tiramisu is lovely as is the sticky toffee pudding. A nice Bailey's coffee rounded off the meal for an altogether wonderful time.
