I want to share with you my experience at a lovely place called Lake Side Cafe in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales. I visited this cafe with my wife, daughter and our dog, a fox terrier, and we had a wonderful time.
Lake Side Cafe is located next to a beautiful lake called Llyn Tanygrisiau, which is part of the Ffestiniog Power Station. The cafe has a stunning view of the lake and the surrounding mountains, and you can even walk around the lake and enjoy the scenery. The walk is about 3 miles long and it's an easy walk, suitable for all ages and abilities.
The cafe itself is very cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff and a large menu. We decided to have the English breakfast, which was delicious and filling. It came with eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast and butter. The portions were generous and the food was cooked well. The best part was the tea, which was a cracking brew of tea. It was hot, strong and refreshing, just what we needed.
The cafe is also dog friendly, which is a big plus for us. They have a water bowl outside for thirsty dogs. The staff were very attentive and kind to us and our dog, and they made us feel very welcome.
We really enjoyed our visit to Lake Side Cafe and we highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice place to eat and relax in Snowdonia. The food is great, the service is excellent, the view is amazing and the walk is lovely. What more could...
Read moreI'm normally a fan of this place. unfotunately after visiting today, I will no longer be using the place. We arrived at 2 pm The lady behind the counter took a food order from the guy in front of my partner, then said no more food. So he just got 2 coffees for us instead of the food we had wanted. Before leaving I asked the staff, most of which were sat down eating, if this was now a regular thing as I would avoid coming at certain times to ensure getting food. The reply was "we've been very busy and deserve to eat..... " My reply... OK .... but is this a regular thing and what times should I avoid coming if I want food? As being in hospitality, I have always sent my staff one at a time to ensure they eat and my customers still come 1st. "Could be any time, so don't always expect food when you come" was the reply.
Well if that is the attitude towards paying customers, then I will not bother coming back or recommending you to any one else. There are plenty of other cafes to choose from for bikers who are out most days wanting refreshments...
