Myself and a buddy stopped for a much needed drink whilst doing the Snowdonia 360 on Motorbikes. The atmosphere in the bar changed as we walked in (bear in mind he’s 50 and I’m 62 and we are decent and law abiding adults, not 1% and we were riding properly silenced “adventure” bikes) and the ‘locals’ stared at us. We waited for the Barman to finish serving the customer in front of us, when another local barfed in from behind us and ordered a Guinness in Welsh. He then proceeded to have a conversation with the barman, in Welsh, and we were totally ignored whilst he was served with a Whisky too. In the end we turned round and left, shocked by the way we were ignored and the Barstaff & locals were living up to the historical perception of the Welsh being so insular. In the end we stopped at LlanfairPG and the Penhros Arms and had a really refreshing drink and a wonderful conversation with the villagers who took the time to explain all about the village name and how to say it. Read moreCan't say anything about the rooms as we were camping just down the road. We always pop in when we are camping. For food or just a drink. We were here may last year and wow the transformation since then is coming along lovely. Alot of time and money being spent here and still going. Staff are lovely and friendly and the food was fabulous. We know how hard it can be with all the up keep and refurbishment as we have our own pub. But its Funny listening to people go on about the menu being limited (fussy eaters) pubs cant have everything you desire on the menu as its not cost effective, and that they can't sit together as there wasn't a table big enough!!! Please people. Book in advance it helps businesses like this and ourselves be organised ready for you to arrive and then you don't need to go on about it and have staff who work really hard feel uncomfortable with your negative attitude. Keep up the amazing job guys and wish you a great...
