Booked a table and was told the next one was 8pm, arrived a few minutes late (partly due to wife banging her foot on the way into the pub in the badly lit, and worn out tape on the step going from the car park into the pub) and was told the kitchen closed at 8 (which we hadn't been told and the impression we were given was that 8pm was the next available time, not the last) , so they needed to check if we could still eat. Was then seated and orders taken, we offered to order desserts at the same time, waittress declined this saying they would take it after. After eating mains (which we felt awkward, in a rush, and like we had put them out having our reservation at the time they suggested) , waitresses didn't revisit our table for a while whilst they brought desserts out for others. We cleared up our own plates and put them to one side of the table. Waitress then did nothing, walking past our table numerous times (aimlessly), and when she did eventually offer to pick them up and we asked if we could see the dessert menu she told us it was too late, despite desserts recently coming out for other tables and despite the waitress wasting about 15-20 minutes. Daughter was disappointed. Service wasn't good, food was okay, but not worth the visit, cost or service level. Luckily a shop down the road had some nice cakes, and had politer...
Read moreThis was a convenient pub to visit on a Saturday lunchtime.
The food is well prepared and tasty. The menu is not too extensive meaning that the food that is prepared is of a good standard. It was well presented.
The menu caters for all including tree hugging vegetarian types, bee loving vegans and those who have issues with gluten. This kept me happy.
The bar is well stocked with beer, lager, cider, wine, spirits and soft drinks.
The service was exemplary with well trained staff who were genuinely concerned to ensure that the food and drink where as expected.
There is an extensive car park, play area and outdoor seating area.
There is a restaurant and bar.
The bar has seating, tables, a pool table and a darts board.
It was spotless and very well presented.
I only visited for lunch so cannot pass comment on the rooms however if the pub is anything to go by the rooms will be...
Read morePopped in for dinner only. Staff were friendly and helpful. Sat in the bar as we had a dog. Bar is like a party pub (big screen MTV, pool table and darts). Kids menu was OK, but adult food was basic and overpriced for what it was. The homemade lasagne was basically a tin of tomatoes, some minced beef and some cheese (that turns into chewing gum in your month) in a bowl and warmed up. The 3-bean chilli tasted similar, just strong tomato flavour and not much else going on. Garlic bread was served burned, I could go on. The soft drinks were flat and tasteless, after a compliment we were told the gas had gone and the drinks were replaced but this time from a bottle. When we order a 2nd round of drinks we were severed the same poor quality I had already complained about. At this point, I just paid the bill and left...
