This fully accessible café has a great view over Llyn Brenig. The food we had was very nice but the menu was very limited, the building design, its setting and lovely atmosphere deserving more than was available.

Lovely long walk with kids around Alwyn reservoir. Then walked around Llyn Brenig and had lunch in the cafe. Kids played on park. Fantastic walk and beautiful scenery

Says on Google Maps opening times for the Cafe are until 4pm, so we drive over an hour to arrive here at 2:45pm for light lunch on a sunny Saturday in Feb. Loads of people in the car park, paid a few quid to park- No mention when you drive in of updated closing times, machine happily takes your money.

Walk in, there's a queue of over 10 people waiting to be served (good sign that it's popular!), wait a few minutes, queue is growing behind us and the girls are pretty slow. When we get there, they tell us they will make a drink only, no food after 2pm, & they close at 3pm. Lot of frustrated people being turned away, chattering about how ridiculous it is to close so early and turn away so much business on a weekend.

In total we saw about 20 people while we sat there with our coffees come in, question it, then leave frustrated. Recommend the Cafe page updates their Google Maps opening times during winter months to reflect the early closing times, so people don't drive out that way only to be turned away. And have a sign outside about the shorter opening hours - Unless of course the site is happily enjoying the parking fees it collects from people only finding out inside that the Cafe is closed...

Only dropped in for a cuppa n slice of cake. This is my 3rd visit and on this occasion didn’t meet my expectations. Mid morning, schools on holiday and not busy. The cafe lacked cleanliness, it felt like you had arrived after an extremely busy hour, as mentioned this was mid morning. My next moan was the cup of dishwater tea. The tea bag had obviously been taken out of the mug before it had stood a while. I like a strong cup of tea and expect the tea bag to be left in for me to remove. My final one was car parking! What’s happened to the photo image being displayed when you enter your registration and why isn’t the free first hours parking displayed at the pay point? Parking notices dotted around the car park but one in Welsh and the next one in English, why aren’t dual language signs used as in many other Welsh car parks. I don’t mind paying my £3 parking and supporting the upkeep of the lake but how many others call in for refreshments and unwittingly pay for parking when it’s...

Very disappointed to find we couldn’t have hot food after 2pm. Waited in a big queue to be served and when we got to head of queue to order @ 14.05 we were told the kitchen was closed. There is nowhere else nearby to eat and we were very hungry after cycling round both lakes. Cafe doesn’t actually close until 4pm so seems crazy to close kitchen 2 hours before cafe closes, also it was a bank holiday and very busy. Not sure we will ride here again as left very hungry and had to make do with a garage sausage roll as we didn’t want the cake that was on offer...
