If you want a choice of ice creams served with a smile, then don't go here. After a lovely bike ride, my 3 year old daughter wanted to stop off for an ice cream. My daughter couldn't quite understand why all the ice creams on show were unavailable and the man serving behind the ice cream stand was so rude to us both about it. I explained to my daughter that the only ice cream flavour available was strawberry, and when she pointed to another flavour the man actually stormed off and swore under his breath in front of my shocked little girl. I will be advising to both my family and friends to avoid this place in the future and we certainly wont be going here for ice cream, food or drink again.

Response to owner: You were immediately rude to me when I asked which flavours you did. You didn't explain that things had melted and just replied "strawberry". When my daughter pointed to the other ice creams you still had out you just replied "just strawberry". I then said to my daughter "Oh, well it's apparently just strawberry and not these others" to which you replied "not apparently, just strawberry". How about consider your customer service and the way you speak to the people? My daughter was excited about trying a new flavour and instead of being rude immediately, you could have explained to her straight away that you were sorry but unfortunately the ice creams had melted. Instead of just barking "strawberry" at us. My daughter left feeling dejected and sad thanks to how you spoke to us both. She even told other people heading to the ice cream shop about the...

Manila’s is one of my favourite local cafes. The location on the Neyland Marina is fabulous - a treat in itself but the food is literally ā€œthe icing on the cake!ā€ Their home cooked menu is excellent ranging from traditional breakfast menus and sandwiches through to a range of delicious cooked meals, salads and to cakes. The selection is varied, the only problem is which one to choose. There really is something for everyone - I’ve visited with my children and grandchildren ( aged one and three),my girlfriends, my husband and my mother who suffers with dementia. The staff are always kind and helpful to mum and make a point of chatting to her. Mum always loves the decor with floral decorated pillars, fairy lights, the staff’s homemade pinnies, and the selection of pretty mismatched China. Sometimes my husband and I will walk along the marina with our dog and sit outside enjoying coffee and cake. Recently we’ve discovered their themed evenings - as expected the food was superb and the atmosphere was great. I can’t wait for...

My husband and I are on holiday for the week, just a few doors away…..We stopped off for coffee the other morning and on approaching the counter, was asked eat in or takeaway? I said takeaway and politely asked for 2 flat white coffees. The rather unpleasant young girl at the counter asked me to ā€œmove over hereā€ I looked around and didn’t know what she meant. There was a fabric barrier next to me and I had to crouch down and crawl underneath it. I thought I was on candid camera!!

She then wrote down my order. No eye contact whatsoever and said ā€œI’ll bring it out. The place was not at all busy and her manner was extremely disrespectful. I couldn’t understand why she was being so rude? Would she have asked an elderly or disabled person to crouch underneath the barrier? Why not just politely take my order? Manillas would have made quite a bit of money from us this week as it would have been a lovely convenient spot for us, but we will not...

Cafe is by the marina plenty of chairs outside some with umbrellas and a fair sized cafe inside plenty of tables to sit at. There's a small sub divided area at one end of the cafe with a separate entrance for people taking food outside. I sat inside and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was waitress service. there is quite a reasonable menu with the English breakfast and various meals for midday or afternoon meals such as cake and tea. I had a tea cake with no jam of course just with butter as it should be in my opinion and it came already buttered which was great as it saves fiddling around with that little butter pack and spreading it yourself. I don't know where they buy their tea cakes from but this was the nicest teacake I've ever had in my long life. And my cappuccino was delicious as well. And all reasonably priced in a basic cafe and served by a very pleasant waitress.

Just had a lovely cooked breakfast for a reasonable £12. Everything was cooked just right and the cappuccino was perfect also. The service was quick and efficient with smiles. Eating a good breakfast with the sun shining with views of Neyland harbour was a great start to the Sunday. If I had to pick any fault it would be the heat from the sun while enjoying the window seat could become a bit intense and I didn't see any visible blinds if things were to get uncomfortably hot.

Lovely cafe. Food is really beautiful. Slightly expensive but is definitely worth a visit. Vegan breakfast isn’t on the menu but they do make a vegan one when you ask :) I asked for poached egg it didn’t come out poached but was still nice. Slight burnt toast but I like how down to earth feel this place is. Would definitely go again
