If you want a choice of ice creams served with a smile, then don't go here. After a lovely bike ride, my 3 year old daughter wanted to stop off for an ice cream. My daughter couldn't quite understand why all the ice creams on show were unavailable and the man serving behind the ice cream stand was so rude to us both about it. I explained to my daughter that the only ice cream flavour available was strawberry, and when she pointed to another flavour the man actually stormed off and swore under his breath in front of my shocked little girl. I will be advising to both my family and friends to avoid this place in the future and we certainly wont be going here for ice cream, food or drink again.
Response to owner: You were immediately rude to me when I asked which flavours you did. You didn't explain that things had melted and just replied "strawberry". When my daughter pointed to the other ice creams you still had out you just replied "just strawberry". I then said to my daughter "Oh, well it's apparently just strawberry and not these others" to which you replied "not apparently, just strawberry". How about consider your customer service and the way you speak to the people? My daughter was excited about trying a new flavour and instead of being rude immediately, you could have explained to her straight away that you were sorry but unfortunately the ice creams had melted. Instead of just barking "strawberry" at us. My daughter left feeling dejected and sad thanks to how you spoke to us both. She even told other people heading to the ice cream shop about the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreManilaās is one of my favourite local cafes. The location on the Neyland Marina is fabulous - a treat in itself but the food is literally āthe icing on the cake!ā Their home cooked menu is excellent ranging from traditional breakfast menus and sandwiches through to a range of delicious cooked meals, salads and to cakes. The selection is varied, the only problem is which one to choose. There really is something for everyone - Iāve visited with my children and grandchildren ( aged one and three),my girlfriends, my husband and my mother who suffers with dementia. The staff are always kind and helpful to mum and make a point of chatting to her. Mum always loves the decor with floral decorated pillars, fairy lights, the staffās homemade pinnies, and the selection of pretty mismatched China. Sometimes my husband and I will walk along the marina with our dog and sit outside enjoying coffee and cake. Recently weāve discovered their themed evenings - as expected the food was superb and the atmosphere was great. I canāt wait for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I are on holiday for the week, just a few doors awayā¦..We stopped off for coffee the other morning and on approaching the counter, was asked eat in or takeaway? I said takeaway and politely asked for 2 flat white coffees. The rather unpleasant young girl at the counter asked me to āmove over hereā I looked around and didnāt know what she meant. There was a fabric barrier next to me and I had to crouch down and crawl underneath it. I thought I was on candid camera!!
She then wrote down my order. No eye contact whatsoever and said āIāll bring it out. The place was not at all busy and her manner was extremely disrespectful. I couldnāt understand why she was being so rude? Would she have asked an elderly or disabled person to crouch underneath the barrier? Why not just politely take my order? Manillas would have made quite a bit of money from us this week as it would have been a lovely convenient spot for us, but we will not...
