Since we were staying in LLanelltyd for a week, and due to be joined by 4 other people, we were looking forward to trying this local eatery.
Unfortunately this place hasn’t moved on since the 1950’s (when children and sometimes women were banned from pubs and restaurants).
We were turned away because we are on holiday with our 16 month old son, and told ‘no under 5s are allowed’. Anyone who has ever had children knows how hard it can be especially for parents with young kids. You go on holiday wanting to spend some quality leisure time with the people nearest to you, only to find that your family members are discriminated against because of their age.
I find discrimination of all kinds abhorrent, but this kind of discrimination hurts young families the most, some of the people who need our support, and for life to be made easier for them, not to endure the stress and upset of being refused to be served due to age discrimination.
Do yourself ( and everyone else) a favour and avoid this place, there are plenty of other great places to eat which are friendly to all humans, not just...
Read moreWe where a big party of 8 adults 5 kids, as such they request our pizza orders in advance witch we did not mind doing. I have given it 3 stars for a few reasons my biggest gipe is the fact that they do not cut the pizza for you, so you need to do it but that is easy said than done when the pizza dose not fit on the plate, the other thing is they do not have pizza cutters? Why this is i do not not know so you end up using a knife and fork and as advise be for the plate is not big enough.
The price of the drinks is to high for my liking with the price of the food i feel they are being a bit gready when it comes to the drinks.
The staff service was good on the hole. Areas where i feel the could improve would be to get rid of the plast and go with serving the pizza on wooden bords or give that there is lots of slate mines around here they could serve the pizza on flat pices of slate. And if they do not want to cut the pizza then at least have a pizza cutters available for people who would rather cut it with them.
On the hole i would not recommend this place to...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic experience from the moment we stepped through the door! Nice lounge area while you wait for food, where you can enjoy drinks and nibbles. There are fine views over the Mawddach estuary which are maximised by the fact all tables are upstairs, and the waiting area is downstairs. The parking area is a bit shabby, so don't be put off by parking there! Two tables in particular command views through the full length picture windows- it's worth seeing whether you can reserve one of these when you book. The menu is small but very interesting, reflecting the fact that there are only about 10 tables upstairs. There is a seperate children's menu available offering freshly prepared versions of kids' staples such penne pasta and bangers and mash. There is a high quality wine list much of which is available by the glass and the whole experience was a relaxed, unhurried feeling of being well looked after in comfortable and attractive surroundings. I am still dreaming...
