MIXOPOLY Bangor Cricket clubs — Restaurant in Wales

As a former chef and a lifelong food enthusiast, I don’t say this lightly – Mixopoly absolutely nailed it. Tucked inside Bangor Cricket Club, this place is a proper find. My girls took us out for lunch yesterday and I wasn’t expecting much from the location, but I was wrong.

The food was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was cooked with skill and confidence, real depth of flavour, and absolutely fresh. These guys know how to cook. The Mushroom and Parmesan Risotto was one of the nicest I've ever tried.

Yes, there was a bit of a wait, but honestly, who cares when they keep you topped up with incredible little canapés that could rival starters elsewhere.

The homemade Limoncello? Game-changer. Smooth, zesty, and dangerously good. Add to that a welcoming atmosphere, good prices, and a family-friendly setup and you’ve got a local treasure that deserves to be packed every night.

I paid my second visit to Mixopoly last week whilst visiting family in Bangor. Both times, I have been impressed by the whole package. The place itself is extremely light & airy overlooking the cricket field. Tables are placed so well that you don’t feel too close to any other table. It is always spotlessly clean & well presented. The staff are friendly & welcoming & you are never kept waiting. The menus are packed with choice & varied & the pricing is fair & competitive. Both times we have had the Breakfast menu & the food has been exceptional. The quality of the produce is clearly fresh & packed with flavour. The portions are ample & very filling. We visited today, although there was a large group booking already there we were seated with no problems and the service was very quick and efficient. I had the welsh black burger.. it was one of the best burgers I've had, the aber falls whisky sauce was beautiful, the burger was an "edwards burger", as anybody in the area knows Edwards is an award winning butchers with amazing quality local meat so to have such quality ingredients on the menu is an absolute winner for me. The chips were cooked to perfection, the lasagne tasted amazing too. I'd like to say a special mention to Alex, he was our waiter for the day.
