The real fire was very welcome on a chilly October evening. Service was friendly and efficient and the beer pretty good. The decor was a bit unusual with some autumnal theme but also a helmet, from a suit of armour, and an axe just lying on a shelf. I didn't feel the need to fight my way out so we've survived to write another review or two. There were two televisions showing different sports. I found it interesting that the rugby had sound but the football, featuring the Welsh team, did not; I guess that's the passion for the game...

We do not know how Richard does what he does when making and preparing his burgers, but they are heavenly delicious. Read moreWhat a great wee discovery this place was! Happened upon it randomly when I saw an advert for (the very excellent) 'Ram Ram' playing upstairs at the bar. As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is super friendly - even for blow ins like us. My friend asked if he could have a go on the piano downstairs, and within minutes was entertaining the bar.
