Had the most beautiful meal in the Portskewett Inn tonight. Although there is only 1 vegan dish written on the menu (a burger) there are many vegan dishes available. The chef was incredible, he came out and gave us options for starters and mains. The vegan meals were delicious! The asparagus risotto and the vegan bruschetta was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were brilliant, no request was too much. 100% recommend.

So glad this has been taken over and with some needed investment. Staff provide a lovely welcome and they remain engaged. Food is so much better, a different league altogether. I am sure the atmosphere will come with time as word gets round and people start to return to this village pub. Kudos to the new owners and staff. A massive improvement.

We regular go to the Portskewett Inn, the food is delicious, the bar staff are friendly and they hold lots of different events, like Karioke, food theme nights and garden parties with live music.

We stopped here for some food after seeing good reviews. The restaurant side was quiet initially, getting very busy by the time we left. I had cauliflower soup to start, which I found quite bland, but nice after a lot of salt and pepper. The bread was lovely but a lack of butter was annoying. My partner had the charcuterie board which was huge for a starter but the meat and olives were nothing special. We then had the 24 hour cooked lamb shoulder, which was so tough we could barely cut through it, even after asking for steak knives. The few bits I ate were stringy and tough and left me chewing for so long my jaw ached and I had to, embarrassingly, evacuate the mouthful into my napkin. I also nearly choked on a piece after a stringy bit got caught in my tooth and a piece of meat went halfway down my throat, causing a 20 second panic where I couldn’t breathe! We gave up on them and they looked barely touched when our plates were collected. We explained to the lovely waiter who said he would feed this back to the chef. The potatoes and veg were lovely though. We had a brownie and ice cream for pudding, which took forever to arrive. We paid at the bar for speed, no discount was offered despite us not eating 95% of our main courses. The waiters were very lovely though. Sad to say we won’t be returning due to...

I had a really lovely meal here... I meant to take photos but only remembered when my plate was clear!

I had the Mediterranean tart for £9.50. The portions are very generous, it came with really nice chunky chips that tasted like they'd been doubly fried and a huge portion of fresh, crisp salad with a nice vinegrette based salad dressing. The tart itself had seeds in the pastry that I think must have been pretoasted? And really well seasoned veg on top. I'd order it again.

We had a salted caramel brownie for dessert, which again was delicious and moist and I would order again.

I think we may have been the only non-locals there this evening but we didn't feel out of place at all. The staff were really attentive and there was clearly excellent team work as drinks and things arrived almost as soon as we'd ordered them.

They have very strict covid requirements and we each needed to give our names, numbers and post codes, the hostess brought the clipboard to our table and filled in the information for us so we weren't stood waiting at the door and she made everything very easy.

It was my first visit but certainly...

Had Sunday roast. Party of three and we had beef, chicken and pork belly. All delivered swiftly and cooked very well. Everything was hot and tasty with plenty of veg and cauliflower cheese. Roasters were nice and crunchy. Pudding was sticky toffee pudding for two of us and a brownie for the other, all were delicious and left me wanting a snooze. Lovely welcoming, cosy, proper pub with polite and friendly staff. Food prices are pretty good considering the quality Very very sadly not my local, but will visit again when I next...
