Had Sunday lunch there, full 3 courses, and it was absolutely fantastic , compliments to the chef! Lovely garlic mushrooms to start. The beef was superbly cooked and well presented with generous portions of everything, the cauliflower cheese was sublime and the thyme coated roast potatoes were excellent. Finished with sticky toffee pudding and, my word, what a sauce! The staff were friendly and the service was wonderful, excellent job guys. Be nice if you added a nice Marlborough district sauvignon blanc to the wine menu ;). We'll be back. Top marks! Returned a few times since and things have gone down hill drastically, portions have halved, one booking we made at the pub whilst there had failed to be recorded by staff and was refused a table when we turned up with our party of six. Pretty shambolic with service standards markedly dropped, revised rating from...

I find it hard to believe that anyone could rate this cosy little village pub anything less that 5 stars. The pub has been beautifully refurbished, It has kept original features such as the cellar stairs underneath the cwtch area, the original stone walls & floors, not to mention the vintage bicycle in the ladies toilets, the pub is known for its cyclists, a lot of care and attention has gone into the design. If you remember the top house how it was before it’s had a complete transformation but has still kept its charm. The food is perfect yummy, pub grub! All freshly cooked and sourced from local businesses which is an added bonus. The homemade tomato soup was delicious! Ellie and staff are warm, friendly and fabulous with the children, this means a lot to us as a family! Definitely...

Absolute shocking customer service. Sent a request to book a table last Sunday for this following Friday. No confirmation or even any contact at all from top house. Been ringing on and off since wednesday left answer phone message and still nothing back. When I did finally get through the woman on the other end was quick to say they were fully booked and that you needed to request a booking a week in advance. until I said that I had requested the booking last sunday. She wasn't even going to check. When she did check my name wasn't down. Just think that more contact is needed with customers who have requested a booking, I also understand they are busy but when a answer phone message has been left have the courtesy to ring the person back or even a 5 second text...

(First time going) 3x Sunday roasts and one children's bolognaise, food was perfect imo, beef really tender, roast and boiled veg perfectly cooked and tasty, very large Yorkshire pudding and the gravy was delicious, wasn’t a fan of red cabbage before I had the dinner but I am now, the sweetness cuts through everything and there’s a lovely balance of flavours. All the food was brought to the table hot and within 10-15mins. Table service was great really friendly staff, tried loads of pubs and restaurants in south wales for a Sunday roast and this one is definitely top tier and well worth a return visit.

CHRISTMAS DAY DINNER! The christmas Day dinner was incredible. Loads of trimmings and meat (quality and variety). The menu and choices was the best I've been. Could of picked it all and stayed for a week to eat it all. It made our Christmas so special and relaxed! The brie cauliflower cheese (included) was to die for! It's a must if you're lucky enough to a table. Thank you so much!
