So let me start by saying I have been coming here for years. I have always enjoyed the food and everything, however...

Visited yesterday and it's really for me no longer the place it use to be, very upmarket looking now which is nice if that's what your looking for, and a huge menu.

For me though I used to like it when it was a smaller place with not so many people, the staff actually were more polite and didn't look rushed and had time for you, I'm sure that the chef owner doesn't mind it being so busy as it will be bringing in a great profit but just remember that customer service should always be on key.

The food, I've always had the crab sandwich which is still amazing and the price hasn't changed in all the years. I've had other things too and they have always been amazing.

So I'm not being negative it is a brilliant place I just think that the staff need to have a little more time to serve and be pleasant to customers.

Well done on still being a place I come to after 10 years

Edited after the owner replied - I really was not being negative and I have visited in the week several times in the past, however as I have visited from the Midlands this weekend. Your staff were not being rude, they didn't have time for themselves let alone customers. It's great that your business is doing well and I hope it continues to be this...

Not happy bunny! Looked on website could see closed at 5pm! Rung to check when they serve food up until, message to say they cannot pick up phone at the moment but to send message on their website... fast forward to 4:02pm after stood there for a couple of mins at the counter my wife ordered quiche but not serving food after 4pm as they close at 5pm! Right attitude as well exclaiming it's on our website... we had and have checked website nowhere does it state serving food until 4pm... there were 3 other customers having tea outside. It has gone downhill since changing hands, food nowhere near as nice.. never mind! Need to find somewhere if they don't want my custom...

Found the Lawrenny Arms had not been there before as always gone to the Quayside...Wow great welcome at the Lawrenny Arms no worries about them not serving food as they do it all day... had Salmon absolutely gorgeous..

To top it all just had a very rude email back after my review... turns out they stop serving food at 3:30 and it's not on the website that you do not serve food after 3:30 not goood customer care.

Give it a miss.

despite owner saying I sent an aggressive email, similar to what is on here... just thanked the owner for not serving us as then discovered...

Tried this coffee shop which has always been a favourite of ours. As it was a lovely sunny day we thought we would have a ice cream. Went to the counter and asked for two single scope cones. Then went to the other counter to pay. Here the waitress said you have two double scopes. I said no they are single, she then shouted across the shop "THESE ARE DOUBLE SCOPES ARNT'T THEY" This was in front of a full shop and a long queue . The girl serving the ice cream shouted back no they are singles. Well said the cashier "she is being too generous" A somewhat embarrassing experience. Shame really. No apology or acknowledgement for embarrassment she caused. Will be along time...

This award-winning tearoom is situated in a beautiful location alongside the Cleddau river midway between Neyland and Landshipping. The place offers delicious snacks, small plates and larger meals accompanied by hot and cold drinks and a yummy selection of freshly baked cakes and tasty desserts, all served both inside and out depending on the weather. Highly recommended are the Quayside's fresh crab sandwiches and crab salad. They also have well-filled baguettes and "blackboard specials" which change every day. When we visited, the weather was not good but the friendly staff and excellent food helped make it a day to remember for all the right reasons.

The tearoom is situated a stone's throw from the estuary and there is always some activity on the river, depending on the tide, to help you lose track of time. The menu is quite cosmopolitan and varies from local crab and lobster to baguettes and cakes. If it rains you can retreat to the car, the food is still delicious. If the weather is with you the location is superb. Covid rules apply at the mo so seating is on picnic benches outside with pagers and ordering and collection are at separate windows. When the order is ready your pager rings, works well. Recycling the rubbish is made easy by clearly marked bins. Dog friendly.

Great selection of specials dishes, enjoyed the smoked mackeral pate and cheese and leek tart, could have chosen several other dishes all looked appealing. Particularly good coffee, very good service by all staff both speedy and friendly, great views from the seating area. Experience only slightly let down by the below standard carrot tray bake which was visibly burnt and so dry it crumbled, and shouldn't really have been on sale. I only assume that was a blip. Everything else was fab. Nevertheless we certainly would return.
