Definitely a hidden gem, pick your route carefully 😂 Very nice pub with awesome food and drink though this time I didn’t have any the food, the food I saw whilst there definitely looked very nice. Excellent service by the manageress and manager and staff, a very homely place with some lovely rooms. I’ll be revisiting soon and definitely having a good meal. Car park on the rear of the building.

Excellent food! Especially the curries which were enjoyed by several of our party of 7 - I recommend the Punjabi Chicken. We booked in advance as we were a larger party, and pre-ordered so our meals arrived quickly. Drink prices very reasonable. One thing to note is that dogs are only allowed in the back restaurant area, and outside. Would recommend if in the area!

Came here during Storm Daragh as we had a power cut and the service was amazing! They also had no power but welcomed us in and cooked a fantastic meal in the dark. Really friendly family owners and was great chatting to them!

We travelled some thirty miles on the strength of reviews we had read. The landlord gave us a warm welcome and we installed ourselves in a nook of the pub that had three tables and a wood burner. There were other tables along towards the bar; the public bar had more tables and a pool table. The food is served from 18:00hrs and we were quick off the mark to place our order as we had waited some weeks before we were able to make the visit. We each ordered a starter, a kebab and a samosa. Both were amazing the samosa was absolutely the best I have ever tasted. I had to restrain myself from ordering half a dozen to take home! Then onto the main event of the pork curry served with rice and naan. I enjoyed the curry, but the rice elevated the meal, this is not the stuff that you are served in your local takeaway! The Guinness is a superior pint to some of the other Guinness I have been served, I was gutted I had taken on driving duties so could only partake of one pint. I would like to make a return visit very soon. If you like good food, good beer and a friendly atmosphere...

I went to the Red Lion Hotel when I was staying at a local Airbnb with friends. Due to storm Darragh we lost all power for 24 hours and on a stroll to kill time we came across this pub where the landlady kindly came outside told talk to us and say she would open for us later that night.

They did just that and served us what drinks they could and cooked a fantastic curry I would have been thrilled with under normal circumstances, let alone the fact they cooked in the dark and with only gas.

They helped turn a difficult day in to an enjoyable one. I would recommend this place to anyone and would love to visit again when the...

We stayed nearby the Red Lion in an AirBnB. During which there was a village outage of power for 24 hours. The landlady + landlord (& the landlady’s mum) were so accommodating of us. They opened the pub especially for us with candles and fairy lights. They made us all a hot meal that was absolutely delicious (despite running off gas / generator). They couldn’t do enough for us. We had no signal and they were prepared for us to make payment at a later day. They were lovely, friendly, polite, warm and welcoming. We enjoyed talking to them. 10/10 5 stars - would 100% come back. Thank...
