We think it could be nice but only if the service improves enormously. We arrived and ordered and paid for a pot of tea for two and two bacon sandwiches. Not too difficult I would have thought. There were two other families eating and drinking when we arrived and a table of two had just put their order in as we sat down. After about 10minutes our pot of tea arrived and we got our two cups out of it. (NB there was no extra hot water to squeeze another out.) After another 20minutes we'd long finished our tea and were STILL waiting for the bacon sandwiches. I went to enquire as to their whereabouts and was met with a blank look from the lady behind the till and she went to find out. She didn't come back to us. Eventually after another 15minutes my partner went to cancel the order and get refunded. The woman said they were very busy hence the delay but there was only one other table of four who had just walked in!!!! Ridiculous. Anyway, I won't bore you with the details of the palaver they went through to refund my card but suffice to say after many frustrated, fruitless efforts they gave up and gave me actual cash back and refunded me in full. So we never did find out if their food is good or not. Such a shame because it is a...

We had the large afternoon tea but we were only offered the choice of two different sandwich fillings so had to pay extra to have a better variety also the same for the cake selection . The food when it arrived after waiting for over 40 minutes for was lovley the sandwiches fresh and tasty the cakes were moist and delicious. Unfortunately they also forgot to supply the tea and coffee included in the meal, which we had to remind them about. We had booked in advance because there were quite a few of us so could not quite understand why there was such a long wait. The car park is also quite small and when we arrived was pretty full . The staff...

Seemed a lovely place, but... we ordered a simple meal (we thought) of bacon roll and mushrooms on toast. 30 minutes later, no food. Other people's food had come, who ordered after us, but no sign of ours. Had to get up and ask at reception and was told "it's just coming" which it finally did 5 mins later. Clearly we'd been forgotten. No apology, no acknowledgement of the fact we'd been waiting. You can talk all you like on your website about friendly and good service, but you need to actually demonstrate it as well. Food was lovely, but whole experience was spoilt due to...

The good. Real nice little café hidden away just outside the village. Staff were friendly and food was very good. The bad. Unfortunately the rooms are very old and tired with loads of flies in ours that I had to get rid of when we first got in. No WiFi or TV in the rooms. Bed was comfy but pillows weren't great. Plenty of hot water in the shower and room was nice and quiet at night.

What a delight when I found this on my Google maps. The food was very reasonably priced and incredibly tasty. We found the staff to be very helpful and as a family with 2 demanding children plus a dog we certainly kept them on their toes but all was in their stride Out the window theres a pleasant view of farm yard animals and scenery, with a peacock wandering around the courtyard

Found it a sort of hideaway place .very nice, mystical in a way. Inside I didn't like the fixed seats to the floor and the area of the loose seats I had to contend with getting down steps..always difficult when using a stick ..would go again with better weather would sat outside thanks.
