Heading away from West Wales it was very difficult to find anywhere that had a table available at lunchtime. So alarm bells should have rang when you walk into a place with only two other covers and lots of empty tables, but we had no choice. I understand it's a chain and not of high quality but we have had decent food in other Brains restaurants. The food within this place was very poor. I played it safe and went for a burger which was not the worst thing I have eaten. However dont expect to have a nice Sunday lunch here. My partner and children had the worst looking and tasting dinner ever. The meat tasted of metal and the veg had that frozen, defrosted, cooked slush taste. One spoonfull of swede mash between 3 people, so had to ask for more. Some over microwaved sprouts and bland carrots. The gravy was so thin it was more of a clear soup and was unidentifiable by taste. The stuffing was a cube of green play dough like substance that for some reason the chef made it the centre piece of the dish with a over cooked yorkshire pudding balanced on top. The only reason I gave it two stars as the kids enjoyed their dinky donuts at the end. Very outdated interior, inexperienced staff, poor quality food and all under the trading name of The Savoy. Miles appart from the other well known Savoy. Hope you improve next year guys.

We stayed at the Savoy Country Inn 24th to 27th November, we were in Wales for a family funeral. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and at ease. Everyone we had contact with was warm, friendly, welcoming and professional. The managers Nick and Nicky were excellent hosts so friendly and informative, easy to talk with as if we'd know them for years. The food was definitely an experience not to be missed, the fish was the best we've had in a long time, I had it twice and hubby had it once. It was so consistent, crispy beer batter every time, beautiful creamy moist fish. Compliments to the chef. Oh and not forgetting the breakfasts, excellent choices. All staff from managers to housekeeping were lovely and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were clean and warm with very comfy fresh beds. I would say, the rooms would benefit from a little upgrade, and a bit of tlc. We stayed in the same room years ago, with the same old furniture and missing knob on the wardrobe, and same blob of paint on the curtain. Coating on the one chair in the room was peeling off. Maybe a more comfortable chair would be better for people like hubby and I with severe osteoarthritis. With that said, it certainly wouldn't deter us from staying again. We hope to return again at least once next year.

Stayed at this lovely countryside pub for the evening. The evening meal was very well priced and a good amount of food. We spent the night in one of the bedrooms. Beds really comfortable and I did get a good night's sleep. Little bit noisy and busy on the main road, but thats to be expected due to where the property is situated. Morning breakfast was cooked fresh and not a long wait at all. Good selection of breakfasts in offer at reasonable prices. I would stay here and eat here again. Staff were lovely and made the stay all that more very comfortable.

My partner and I visited today after a long afternoon bike ride in the sun, and both of us were starving!! I ordered a Mixed Grill and my partner ordered Hunters Chicken as both looked nice on the menu, however, what we were presented with was very disappointing, inedible, and looked nothing like the menu. The mixed grill was atrocious!! Steak was over cooked - despite asking for medium! Chewy and full of gristle, inedible! The sweet potato fries were burned black, crunchy and inedible! Peas cold and over cooked, egg was runny and undercooked. The only barely edible part was the gammon , sausages, again looked like they'd been hanging around a while and same with the Chicken. My partner had Hunters chicken and had to hunt for the bbq sauce! And had same charcoal( masquerading as sweet potato fries) As there was an absence of staff that should check if the food was OK- nowhere to be seen on this occasion, I bought this issue up to the attention of a member of staff who informed me that they were very sorry and would have a refund. For the record I left half of mine and my partner cleared her plate, only because she was starving and couldn't be bothered with another ridiculous wait. My partner asked for desert to see if it would soften the blow a bit and when I asked at the bar for desert, I was challenged with "what? You want desert? Are you expecting this for free??" Which I replied no I'm happy to pay as long as its of an edible standard! To which she laughed in my face! Unreal and just shocking customer service, I walked away and said forget the dessert we are leaving. When I came to pay I was told there would be no refund as my parter had cleared the plate, which contradicts what I was told earlier! She only continued to consume that muck as dhe was starving and didn't want the hassle. Not wanting to cause a scene and embarrass my partner I agreed to pay, even though my blood was boiling at the way we had been treated. I was told they had been busy even though the pub was virtually empty!! Still no excuse foe serving up this rubbish. Awful customer service and awful food for the price charged, I wouldn't recommend and I certainly won't be going...

I saw this place on the way back from Tenby and called in intending to order a Sunday roast. I ordered on the app but went up to the bar to order a glass of water. The drinks came quickly. After 40 minutes my wife went to inquire about the food and was told that the food would be out soon. I then went up to the bar myself at 50 minutes and was informed that when I arrived there was an hour wait this was the first I was told of this and I would have understood if the venue was busy but it was not. I was told the food was being plated up. It was a further 10 minutes before the food arrived. When my chicken dinner arrived I could see that it was dry. Everything had a microwaved hot/cold taste. The chicken was so dry I could not eat it. My wife's turkey dinner was not much better the roast potatoes were cooked in fat that needed to be changed and dry. My youngest daughter ordered the chicken and mushroom pie which was accompanied by chips which tasted the same as the roast potatoes. Her pie crust was a chore to cut with a knife to the point where she gave up and left it due to the fact it had been microwaved. My other daughters' sausage and mash was also overdone. When the manager asked how the food was I told him that the chicken was dry and the vegetables were hot/cold. He seemed surprised that I was unhappy and offered me a replacement which I declined, concerned that it would take the same amount of time as my first meal and not be any better. It cannot be the chain because I had been to the Aubry arms in Cardiff a fortnight prior and had had a lovely experience. I will not be visiting this...

I booked a table for two for Sunday lunch. The lady who responded told me we were booked for 13:30, although the subsequent text stated 13:45. We arrived at 13:30 and were shown to a table. After reviewing the menu, I went to the bar to order two Roast Beef Sunday lunches, only to be told there was no roast beef available. When I consulted my wife, we considered leaving (subsequently we wished we had), but opted for a Turkey lunch and a half-chicken lunch. We ordered, and drank, a drink each (Spritzer and a pint of ale). After almost an hour, at 14:30, we had not received any food and went to the bar again to query this. We were told the food was imminent, so ordered two more repeat drinks. Just as I returned to the table, the food arrived. It was awful - the chicken was grossly overcooked with the skin nearly black, the roast potatoes were similarly overcooked and hard, some of the vegetables were crinkling up: it all appeared like it had been cooked a long time previously and just kept warm. I complained and the plate with the chicken was taken back and returned with another half-chicken which was almost as bad, and everything else the same I told them we were not prepared to eat the food or pay for it and we were going to leave. After some argument, they removed the cost of the food from the bill and in order to avoid further argument, I paid just over ÂŁ18 for the two rounds of drinks even though we had not drunk the second ones. This was the first time in many years that I had returned a meal in a restaurant and I find it hard to believe that anyone could consider the food to...
