We booked this restaurant as my daughter wanted to try a sit in Indian meal. We pre-booked and on the evening of the meal we arrived and was made to feel very welcome We were sat at our table immediately and drinks orders were taken. Cobra lager was a favourite. Once the drinks arrived we were asked if we were ready to order, we were also offered poppadoms and chutney tray, which we accepted. My daughter ordered a starter of Chicken Pakoras and I have to say they were by far the nicest I've ever tasted. We also ordered Chicken Bhuna, Chicken Malaya, Tikka Masala, and Chicken Jalfrezi with sides of chips and rice and Keema Naans. The food was absolutely beautiful and this would be possibly my new favourite place to eat in Pembrokeshire. I would say that there was a lot of food and we probably could have done without the chips and possibly shared dishes rather than order individual ones. I think if I were to go again I would be more adventurous with my choosing as the pakoras were so delicious. The staff were fabulous and happy to chat away to us, service was really quick all food fresh and it was...
Read moreAn ok place. The atmosphere is nice and the wait staff are friendly, though the table I was seated at did have a dirty tablecloth.
As for spicyness, the cook staff seem to have a good understanding of spice levels and main dishes are labeld mild, medim, and hot. When they say mild, they mean mild, so if you can't handle hot spices you don't need to worry.
I tried the vegi samosas; great flavor with just a hint of heat and served with a tasty mint sauce (they gave me a ton of this). Also tried the Lamb Tikka Kuma with plan rice and garlic naan. The rice was fine, but the garlic naan was disappointing - cruchy instead of soft, and the garlic part was just a bit of minced garlic smeared over plain naan. The Kuma was very creamy, with excellent flavour, but an odd texture (not grainy, though it looked that way) which suggested the cream used had curdeled during cooking. This texture progressively got less appealing as I ate and I couldn't finish once I ran out of rice and naan to mask it. The lamb was very tender.
Decent, especially for a small town, but not spectacular and on the...
Read moreThe food is good, but disappointed with the service. I ordered a takeaway onsite and was told it'd take 30 minutes. So I went and got some chips next door for my kids and timed it to come back by then. The guy who took my original order was in the kitchen when I came back and the woman at the counter couldn't trace my order. They basically misplaced my order but rather than admit this they told me it'd be just a couple of minutes. 20 minutes later (and my kids chips now cold) the original guy comes out with my order. I asked him if he forgot it (which I'd respect as things get overlooked now and then) but he couldn't admit they made a mistake, and blamed it on the queue. There' was one person that picked up their order while I was waiting. I'd rather they admit they're human and make mistakes now and then. The alternative is they give unrealistic order times and don't know what's happening in their kitchen, which is much worse. It's ok to get it wrong now and then, just...
