We used to love this little Gem of a cafe but today was a horrendous experience, Got there looking forward to a Visit. Nearly all the tables inside were reserved. I suggest in future if you have a private function close the cafe or at least put signage outside. Staff were extremely Rude, One on the till didn't know the menu, another when asked about tables had a awful attitude with very sharp and blunt replies and continued shaking their heads to customers. More effort was spent setting the reserved table than on the Customers you had present at the time. Guests and Customers were expected to sit outside in the drizzle, some including us with very young children, No table numbers, no Menus, another customer spent 10 minutes waiting for a Menu to again be greated with yet another Blunt response. Coffees arrived warm at best certainly not warm and our food orders "was missed from the Bill" we were advised 35 minutes later. We did have a half forced apology. When the food arrived it was so warm and no warning at all I am very lucky I checked before letting my child help themselves to the long awaiting lunch. This was an appalling level of Customer service, awful organisation and below average food and drink so disappointed in today's experience to the point we are regular customers who will not...
Read moreJust reading some of the reviews and must say people are so petty, I had breakfast in there yesterday and it was spot on and didn't need to wait too long even though they had a morning rush.
The atmosphere, as always is fantastic. I usually take my dogs a walk and call in on the way back for either a breakfast or a late lunch (the menu is fantastic, so much choice and im gluten free) the dogs get a biscuit each and a puppacino.
The staff are always so accomodating and so nice to talk too, no matter how busy always smiling and take the time to talk to you.
The place is always busy so I suggest if your a table of 4 and above to try and book to avoid disappointment.
The grounds itself is so peaceful and pretty with plenty of wildlife, the gardeners do such an amazing job...
Read moreHad my baby shower here which consisted of afternoon tea for a large party. Staff were attentive and friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy and everything was okay. Sandwiches were delicious and varied and cakes were to die for! We are now regular visitors and my son can't go to the museum and grounds without popping in for a Sidoli's chocolate ice cream. I love the little honey jars they use for the iced coffees and dog friendly so...
